There is water in beer. But in all seriousness, they sell water at the food trucks and you can't bring too much beer; space is limited in the bag. Red bull is a must to fight the blackout. Also soft chews if you are crushing sours....

Bad news people. Sent an email asking about using hand carts for the cases at DLD. One, they don't allow them in, and two, they are not selling packaged beer other than DL at the festival. No cases, no bombers. Have to go Friday or Sunday to get that stuff. I posted the email response below:

    "Hi Adam,

    Thank you for your email.

Dollies and hand trucks, even small foldable hand carts, are not permitted at Dark Lord Day. Unlike previous years, there is no carry out, packaged sales this year, so the need for dollies and hand trucks is not there like perhaps it would have been in the past. Three Floyds will be selling their beer variants at taps throughout the festival, so you will be able to enjoy those beers on site, but will not be able to purchase packaged beer to take with you. Of course, packaged sales will be available on Friday and Sunday at the brewery so you may still make your purchases then. If there will be other opportunities to purchase packaged beer, it will be posted on our website at www.DarkLordDay.com."

There is literally no proof of this anywhere online. I would love for this announcement to be true but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Thanks for posting that, clears a lot up. Maybe they had too many issues in the past with cases being sold. I'm hoping they have vintage bottles though.

I've never seen one, but I typically can't see outside of a 10 feet radius after making it through the bottle share in line to get in...

Some local organization sells it for $1/bottle. I forget if it's Lions or Scouts.

I have no idea of the logistics behind water stations for that many people in that large an area.

Water buffalos, or those big plastic barrel things most other places have.

Music: Pallbearer wouldn't be bad if every goddamn song wasn't 10 minutes long.

Beer: I find it hard to believe they won't be selling any regular to-go beers on Dark Lord Day.

I'd imagine some last minute shuffling and wouldn't be surprised if they sell the normal packaged beers

Their recently purchased warehouse is under construction though, which is where they sold packaged beers last year. FFF probably wont have access to that building this year (just my speculation). They might cancel packaged sales due to the lack of available space. They might not want to sell their other beers in the DL line to ensure that the line moves.

I would agree. They did say at the end of the email " if there will be other opportunities to purchase packaged beer, it will be posted on our website at www.Darklordday.com" They probably aren't announcing that to try and keep people from bringing things.

I'll be stopping in on Thursday to hopefully score some ZD and at least a case or two of Gumballhead for the upcoming summer.

As far as the bands go, I saw that CoC is playing in Columbus Thursday 4/23 and Minneapolis Mon 4/27. So, a likely stop to play DLD is very possible. None of the other 3 bands that I saw have any shows booked that day so we'll see.

Also, if the no package sales at DLD holds up, the to-go kiosk at the brewpub that entire week is gonna be a mad house especially the day before and after DLD. I think it's a terrible idea but I would assume it's a logistics issue with the new building being constructed next door. Can't really fault them for that but I really hope something changes with the package sales.

As a first time DLDer, I was gonna ask about this. Friend and I are driving in from Pittsburgh and we've both been to the brewpub a few times and want their regular food menu, but figured it wouldn't even be worth it on Friday and Sunday. Good idea to stop on our way in on Thursday night and get cases and food?
