The biggest question is "where will the hot sauce be sold"? Merchant tent? Haha
imaging the sticker shock when the drunks look at their credit cards. surge pricing is a mofo.
Jimmy Dugan once famously said - "There's no crying in baseball!!!"....and under the fourth corollary to the transitive property on non-related topics, I suggest that therefore - "There's no whining at DLD!!!" Check my math, I'm pretty sure I'm correct on this one.
So - I'm going to dress for the weather. I'm going to meet and greet with folks from all over. I'm going to have a fine time, rain or shine, sharing pours of whatever the hell I decide to bring, with whoever the hell I bump into. And, yes, thank you, I'll try some of yours.
And, if you do it right, line standing can be a great time. One of the first DLDs, maybe about 2006(?), I got home from a bidness trip on Friday night, and decided to venture over to the fest. Lo and behold - Gumballhead, which was still a seasonal at the time, was just released. I got a pint of this delicious summer beer, and then promptly got back in queue again for another, as my razor sharp intellect told me that I would probably want another when the first was gone, and that the line was about as long as my beer would last. (And my math was correct on that one, too!)
So, I spent the better part of the afternoon going from the back of the Gumballhead line to the front, where I would then buy another Gumballhead, and then promptly get back in line again. I had a flat out great time, just sipping my GBH, and talking to the folks in the line.
But I digress.
There's no whining at DLD!
For example, my backpack might be a bit taller than a milk crate but it could be crammed in to one. I am hoping there are no issues.
Well my cooler pack just squeezed in the crate but sticking well above. Tight fit hahaha
DLD 2015: Year of the "WHERE'S MY TICKET?!" and "Backpacks, how do they work?"
These threads are a fucking riot every year!
My favorite year on the threads was 2013- year of the "Can I camp out or line up early" which led to one entertaining gentleman who in every post he referenced contacting the Munster PD.
Merchant tent? I think you mean merchandise tent. Anyway the map pdf already mentions that the hot sauce will be sold at tent 4 by the brewpub along with the waxed barrel aged ice cream.
Is this empty or full? Can't see any backpacks especially those polar ones fitting into a milk crate with bottles in it
... We need tickets!!!?
It’s not that they can’t enter through the North Gate. We encourage the split so that we can more efficiently get Group A ticket holders in the festival and in their queue line to purchase Dark Lord. We found that this worked very well last year. However, no one will get turned away from either gate. You might find that the line at the South Gate is shorter.
I hope that this helps. Thank you for your email!
2014 DL listed on bottles to go on FFF website fwiw.
Actually been on since 11:30 yesterday. Crazy it's still available.
What is the email address for them?

The "Tent" across the street from 3 Floyds has a metal frame and is easily 30 feet high. All I saw was the shell that was going up yesterday evening.
Packing up right now..does anyone remember if the water is free? Need to know how much to pack and my bag will be significantly lighter if it is indeed free.
Nothing is FREE.
yep. bring your own and save $$
Water bottles were $1 last year.
I think they're actually charging for the air you breathe this year.
Wife and I just picked up '14 DL bottles here a half hour ago, still. Also shocked they were still available.
Last year water was $5 for 7 centiliters. But the forecast for Saturday calls for rain all day, so I would bring a rain barrel and save 2 quid.
Tempted to stop at the kiosk tomorrow when I get in the area around 1pm but with little to no info being released about zombie dust.figure I might just continue to chicago to meet up with friends. Been checking the beers to go and haven't seen zombie dust for 2 days but it seems people are getting it there. Also, any permanent funeral sightings?
Will the brewpub be open sunday normal hours?Sorry first year
Their email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
They have been very prompt and really nice in responding to questions.
Water was $1 a bottle and it went to the humane society. I would say don't lug around your water in a backpack all day to save $1 when u r buying $20 and up bottles of beer. Just my 2 cents...(That could have been saved with that $1 Im spending on water, dammit...)
On the road! Hoping to hit up the madhouse that's sure to be of the open bottle.
I have group c tickets. I am arriving at 10. My guest will be here at 1pm. Can I enter the gates and then go back out to bring my guest in? The instructions say we must enter at the SAME time so I just want to clarify he must enter with me by his side and not when I first enter. Correct?
Correct, you can do it that way.
Whoever was refreshing the weather page, thanks!
Chilling at the airport waiting for my flight.
Latest forecast calls for mud puddles, empty wallets, and the inevitable broken bottle of Dark Lord from some poor SoB. Pointing and laughing will ensue.
It's actually improved. Up to 50 and only 90% chance of rain now...
From Dark Matter Coffee: "Goblet, Schooner, Pimp Cup, or Chalice, whatever you want to call it. It's 22kt. Gold, sold only at Dark Lord Day."
And this one:
I just love glassware
that goblet will fetch a grand on ebay on sunday.
i think it'd be worth your time. my hunch is they'll have a lot of stock in advance of tomorrow's event. quick trip off the highway anyway, so not much time lost if you strike out. expect a line.
That was a mess if you ask me. You had every group in the same line and everyone claimed they were group A. This year the email said about north gate line up for group A and south gate for all other groups. Hopefully this helps but I doubt it.
was hoping you'd post pictures of the other mini snifter and coffee stein.........
they had the same instruction last year.
Oh boy what a mess then
