I think this deserves it's own thread. It was briefly discussed in the Dark Lord Day 2012 thread, but this one is specifically for people staying at the Hampton in Munster.

Anyway, who else will be there the night before DLD? From my understanding, there is an awesome bottle share that goes down. What do you plan on bringing/sharing?

For those who have stayed there before, how does it usually go down?

    I plan on bringing:

    2012 Bourbon County Stout
Pretty Things Our Finest Regards ('10-'11)
    The Brew Kettle White Rajah
    The Bruery Cuir
Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch Weasel cognac
    New Glarus Raspberry Tart
Central Waters BB Barley Wine ('12)
Central Waters BB Imperial Stout ('11)
    Hoppin Frog BORIS 100
    Hoppin Frog BA BORIS
    Deschutes The Stoic
    Weyerbacher Blasphemy
    Founders Nemesis 2009
...and a bunch of other Ohio goodies.

I honestly won't get to all of these beers on Friday (will save them for DLD), but if anyone wants a pour of any of the above beers then let me know!

The way it goes down; Last year we put a sign on our hotel room door and told people to just walk-in. I poured an 09,10,11 vertical of KBS and we had a small bottle share in the room with some other residents. Then we moved down to the lobby and sampled some of the finest beers I have ever had the pleasure of tasting.

PLEASE KEEP IT CIVIL! or the hotel may not let us do this stuff anymore.

    I will be bringing;
    12' Decadence
    Hoppin Frog BORIS ROYALE
    Cigar City Big Sound
    Rivertown Pestilence
    Bambic

    And probably a few more

I'll be bringing a couple growlers of Haymarket beers. Probably a stout (if they have their whiskey barrel aged stout i'll bring that cuz its mind blowing) and an IPA (if they have their Angry Birds Belgian IPA I'll bring that cuz it won gold at GABF and is very good)

I live here, but am planning to come to the hotel for the party. Suggestion, let's take this party to beer geeks. A small bar down the road that only sells craft beer and is a pretty cool setting.

Yr not going to watch the draft at FFF, only thing you can watcch there is kung fu and soccer. However you might get a special dl pretapping. If you want good beers(on tap and bottled) and watch some sports, def go to beer geeks in higland. Prob about 5-10 min from where yr stayin.

2 post, and you are pushing beer geeks in both....???? What gives? And why would we want to go elsewhere, spend more money, when we can just stumble back to our room?

On top of these good points I like the idea of a wide open hotel lobby as opposed to a bar. Seems like it would lead to more openness in terms of talking to people you dont know as it can be intimidating to walk up to a group of strangers sitting at a table, especially in a dimly lit bar

Was mentioned above, but it is very important to keep it civil in the lobby. We plan on getting started after dinner (around 7:30). Last year we were told that we weren't allowed to have it, but talked the girl at the front desk into calling her manager at home. It went very well, and we don't want to give them a reason to not let us continue to do it every year.

Can't wait to meet a bunch of new BAs. Will have several verticals and other beers to share: sours and stouts for me!

And we talk about it every year but this year I'm just going to bite the bullet and bring name tags this year....would make things so much easier!

Being Civil is super key (as you can tell by the # of times it's been repeated in this thread. Also I like the idea of nametags but I agree that it wasn't going to get done without someone taking initiative. Are they going to be our BA names or our government names? (lol)
