I'm thinking of going to DLD this year but wondering if you can drink Dark Lord other than the 3 - 4 bottles that you are allowed to buy. Is there anything on tap?

Yes. Dark Lord (and variants) and fantastic guest taps (many great one off beers). Go just for the guest taps.

^ This... It's easy to get caught up in all the trading you can do there, but I plan to just relax this year and enjoy all the wonderful beers on tap and maybe the music on the stage! Great time!

Has any one been to DLD and Hunahpu Day? Which one is better? I'm looking to have some fun this year, but I don't want to go broke before summer! I prefer Huna over DL and I'm an El Catador member, but Chicago would be much easier for me to go to. I'm curious which one is a better party or has better taps.

    '13 DLD >>> '13 Huna Day

DLD was perfectly spaced out this past year unlike Huna which was fun but a total cluster f*** . The variety of guest taps was better and easier to get to with shorter lines compared to Huna day also, just my input

That is really difficult to compare. Last years Hunahpu won't be anything like this years, now that its ticketed. Both have absolutely amazing taps but the only bad at DLD was the FFF tent. They really could have cut down on the enormous line by having all the BA DLD and vintage FFF stuff tapping randomly at the other tents, which never had any lines throughout the day (but still great beers). The line for bottles is notoriously bad though, taking over 5 hours sometimes. Its was the opposite case at Hunahpu where the beer lines for special tappings were crazy long all day and unless you got lucky enough to be at the front when something special tapped you basically had no shot at getting a pour, but (at least when I went through) there was hardly a wait for bottles. Both are awesomely spacious now that FFF has taken over the area across the street. As for food, Hunahpu does it better having a lot of food trucks available the entire time, where FFF basically had 1 food tent which ran out of a lot of food before the evening.

Great thing about Hunahpu is that there are events the days before and after which are just as great in their own rights. Pegs is a fantastic event and while I missed out on 7th Suns Hunahpu Hangover Day I hear it was great as well. Makes for a full and amazing beer weekend.

The beer shared at DLD >>> beers on tap at DLD.

Bring bottles to share and make friends.
