So I have two DLs, one orange wax and one blue wax. I can see through the orange wax and see their normal pink and green mint style bottle cap. The blue one I couldn't see and decided to chip a little bit off and its a black cap. Did they change it or did someone give me a fake one?
They probably changed caps. Can't tell you definitively but I think the chances of someone bottling a fake beer and selling it to you is pretty unlikely. Unless you bought a huge quantity of this DL the chances are pretty slim. It's not like it's a $3,000 bottle of wine. That being said though, I'm quite curious and await a report back once you open the bottle and give it a try
This was a response from 3 Floyds in 2014. They had a period in between suppliers where they were using black crown caps. Since Blue wax was 2014, it's most likely legit, though I don't recall what caps were on the 2014 DLs I've opened.
