I traded a 2018 assassin for Hung Drawn and Quartered + 2017 BC Reserve.

 

I commend you for getting that trade done. I had offered Assassin 16 for Hung Drawn n Quartered 1:1 and got crickets, and Assassin 16 trades for a good bit more than Assassin 18. Getting a solid plus on top of HDnQ for Assissin 18... yeah.

 

I wondered how recent and whether this was done with a friend given the trade. Not trying to be disrespectful of course, but definitely seemed heavy.

 

I should probably shed some light on the scenario as I agree that my trade does not reflect the current values of the beers. My trade partner was a guy I had never met before that was offering numerous beers on Craigslist in Minneapolis. He had just returned from the Dark Lord release. I think he'd been there numerous times before so Dark Lord releases didn't mean as much to him as acquiring an Assassin which was a beer he'd never tried before. I also think that our trade occurring so soon after the Dark Lord release was the only reason it got done as it did. I think word eventually got out that HDQ is very tasty and the trade value has increased as a result. When we were initially discussing the trade, he agreed that he would throw a plus my way. I allowed him to make the first plus suggestion and when he offered BC reserve as a plus, well, nobody would pass that up.
