Nope, they updated the FAQ to now say : on a first come first served basis within each group. please don't ever say "boom, roasted" again.

 

That's funny. It did not have the first come, first serve part when I went on. Welcome to a shit show.

 

I think they just added that. This is going to be a disaster.

 

They know how many of each ticket are out there guys. They will separate all the variants and vintages for each group into different piles. You will only get to pick from the pile with your group letter on it. That's my $0.02

I think you are correct that it will not be random but this still doesn't answer the question about jumping to later groups when the variants "reset".

 

Yeah, this isn't complicated. Take number of bottles of variant, divide by 5.

The problem I'm having for anyone non group A is that now, there will be motivation to line up INSIDE the fest for your allocation slot.

 

Guess I'm getting vintage. I'm the only one in my group with a C ticket and I'm not standing there by myself for 6 hours to get a good variant.

 

There is no way they're going to let that slide with this new policy. Maybe those people will get whatever is left of their group pile.

 

Maybe they will shoo people away until a certain time. Maybe there's no more picking up your Dark Lord after your group's time slot is over.

 

Both of those things would be amazing.

Nope, they just highly recommend that you don't line up early.

Each ticket is printed with a group designation (A-E). There will be a line for each group to enter the brewery and collect your Dark Lord allocation. Each Group will be allowed to enter during or after its designated time frame. Check out the Schedule page of this website to determine what time your group will be allowed to collect bottles of Dark Lord. We highly recommend that you do not line up more than 30 minutes prior to your group’s designated time, and that you enjoy the festival, the other beers available, and the music until your group time arrives.

I agree with some of you. Not a huge fan of this, seems like it just adds a whole nother level of stress

 

So now I expect people in line for the gates early with group D and E tickets that normally would not show up until well after gates opened. The line to get in the gates is going to be awful.

 

Yeah so I'm sure all the later groups will just line up as soon as the festival opens now... If I was D or E, I'd be lined up as soon as I got in and just share with people around me until I got in. No way I'm leaving line to get taps or anything until I get top pick of variant. They really didn't think that one through...
