My apologies if this has already been covered (I've been searching threads and haven't found anything yet) -

what events/festivities are going on Friday night for DLD Eve? Besides the usual bottle shares, I'm already aware of the Flossmoor release going on, is there anything else? Maybe at 18th St or somewhere else?

Thanks for the help - just trying to plan out my Friday evening in the Hammond/Munster area pre-DLD.

Local Option has an event with a bunch of good taps.

Beer Bistro is doing an 18th St tap takeover.

Open Bottle is tasting out a Dark Lord vertical, offering a free glass to anyone with a DLD ticket, and tapping a few cool things.

None of those are super close to Hammond/Munster, but if you want to stick in the area I would check out something from: Beer Geeks in Highland, 18th St, Windmill Brewing in Dyer, New Oberpfaltz in Griffith (couple of other breweries real close to this one as well), Crown Brewing in Crown Point, One Trick Pony in Lansing.

 

Are tickets really going on sale tomorrow at 11am? Heard this afternoon that there are a "few dozen tickets left" and they're going up for sale in the morning. I haven't read this thread since page 60 so I'm sure this has already been talked about, my bad.

Random question: any of you guys in the Ft Wayne area? I got roped into a four day meeting there that is cutting out Friday night in Munster for me. Was thinking about bringing some good bottles for the hotel lobby on wed-thurs to get myself geared up for the big day.

I'll be there about 10:30 to get mine. My friends suck so I'm going solo and I don't care. I'll bring some goodies to share but I'll get my bottles and hang out Saturday

 

I'm sure this question was asked/answered at some point of this thread growing to 154 pages, but here it goes again.

My buddy backed out leaving me with an extra ticket, my brother in law will be there (he has his own ticket). Can he go through the bottle pickup line with my extra ticket to get the allotment and later in the day go get his allotment with his own ticket?

"We've received word that a few dozen tickets for this weekend's #darklordday will go on sale at the brewpub TOMORROW at 11AM" Rather than scale back the amount of tickets to accommodate the limited amount of variants, we have decided to screw even more people into vintage by allocating more and inviting more people to further decrease your chances of getting a variant.....

 

They're doing a pretty solid tapping of stouts at the beer arcade in Griffith called Twincade. Usually have a solid selection there anyway but good Dark lineup for DLD eve. And yeah, windmill has the current best NE and milkshake style IPAs in the cheap uber range from Floyds area so I recommend hitting them up.

 

It's technically not allowed (read the FAQ), but who knows how vigilant they are. He may get away with it, but I think he would have to leave the fest in between (I don't totally remember, think they punch the ticket at the gate?).

Edit- Looks like they pared down the FAQ after tickets sold out, but there was definitely something like "1 ticket allows entry for one person. You can not use 2 tickets to get 2 allotments."

 

Map looks like more draft stations this year than last. Am I crazy?

 

I think also by putting people in this area (likely tightly fenced like the north gate last year or at least a portion of it) they can decrease the likelihood of the line snaking down progress ave , up valparaiso, down superior and up calumet ave. With only one gate this year everyone is going to be at this entrance.

 

I don't think that area is all that little; it seems to be where the other tent was located last year which would be a pretty large area

Basically you both go in with your tickets, get allotment & then you watch the stuff. Friend leaves, switches tickets & comes back in with his ticket & goes to get his allotment.
Game? Yes but I suggest that you not try to reason with FFF it does not work out well in your favor....aka they don't give a F how many tickets you bought, it's 1 allotment per ticket & 1 ticket per person no matter how compelling your story

thanks for info, need to check out windmill, who doesnt love a NE IPA? Bringing a crap load of HOOF last year was a hit since everything else was stouts.
