Darklord Day 2017

All in all a pretty awesomely run event. Food trucks in the entrance, port o potties everywhere. Great weather and beer sharing. All in all thought it was fantastic!

 

Ok I changed my mind. Had a pour of chemtrail on draft. Fire.

I got Chemtrail and I'm indifferent. I've gone to darklord the last 6 years and if it is run the same way next year I'm out. I don't need to spend 180 for that. I had fun with the bottle share but honestly f**k 3 floyds for that.

 

Overall good time. Had some amazing beers, mostly stouts so I'm hurting now but that's life. Me and +1 got BBDL, wound up trading mine straight up for a Chemtrail on my way back to the car. Got the last foamy pour of Ronaldo at the stand just south of tent right after open, got to share it with a few peeps and have some good beer talk. Guest taps were alright, had Speedway Nibs&Beans at one point but some things still on at 3 that were there at open like Dark Horse Smells Like a Double Safety Meeting and Zombie Dust. More thoughts to come later

 

Best thing I saw and grabbed was Derivation. It didn't say which one, but it was amazing. Also snagged Tropocalia, which was solid.

 

Muerte is actually really good. Was standing in line for BA Moloka with Vanilla and the mutha blew 4 people in front of me. Theuly replaced it with DL muerte. It was good. U won't be disappointed.

 

I completely agree. The only thing better than muerte is regular bourbon dark lord. This years had more spice but it was still amazing

 

My group of 4 got 1 Handjee, 1 FVM, 1 BA DL and 1 set of vintage.

The opening corral area was a great idea, but forcing people that want to re-enter the festival to go all the way to the back of the line to get back in was completely stupid. Fun festival though, although I don't do much of anything besides go in and get my bottles and leave. I wish they had more places to sit. I'm old and fat and I'd be more apt to stick around if there was somewhere to actually sit besides asphalt or rocks.

 

I hurt everywhere. Just made it home. Sunburnt (I used suntan lotion, just didn't help). I feel great tho. Tried a handjee (dude popped one right in front of me). Had a bunch of other awesome shit. Was at the fence by the grassy knoll at like 12:25. Didn't see any of u but met some cool ppl. Saw a few DA shirt guys. Said hello. Had tacos. I'm drunk still. Gonna sit down to a nice cold Powerade and watch shameless. Love u all. Thanks for a great day!

Irrespective of everything else, one could certainly not have asked for a nicer day.

 

I'm back, more sober than I expected. I paced myself a lot better. One of the guys in our group made pretzel necklaces on the way and they were a lifesaver.

Got a Muerte, I'm okay with it. As long as they get the vintage shit out of there in the future, I think the system works fine. I didn't mind the way they did it last year either.

Got Ronaldo right when I walked in. It was good, heavy cherry. It's basically dessert though. It took me a while to finish my pour.

I ran into a few Dragon Abortion shirts. We need a bigger spot for a share next year, it was kind of spread out along the path. Maybe in the holding pen if they do that again?

In general, a good time. I'll probably be back as long as I don't have to play Russian Roulette with the vintage.

 

My wife and I got BB DL and Muerte, respectively. Could've had vintages so all in all, a good day. Bottle shares were tremendous. People were generous. You know who you are!

 

My brother and I ended with FVM and bourbon. Happy about both of those. Shares were awesome.

 

We had six in our group. 5 FVMs and a handjee...craziness.

 

Oh and to clarify we had 2 B 2 C and 2 D. Which makes the fact that we basically all got FVM crazy

 

Fuck everyone bitching about what variant they got. Both my wife and I got vintage in d.

 

Was in the bottle line, lady held out a bag with blue and purple bottles ... kept walking to the next guy, got a bottle of Chemtrail, traded it right away for the BA

Overall, a fun day
