So, that sucks. I don't really need 6 regular DL. I was already debating whether it was really worth it if I'm group D or E, that would make it a much easier pass. It's a great party, but not $180 worth without a variant. That's just my opinion of course.

 

Agreed. I'm probably 50/50 now if only group E pops up. If I get A or B though I'm almost certainly going to buy them.

 

Knowing FFF it'll be back to the old magic ticket system again to determine if you get a variant or just the two vintage.

 

If I wind up with 2 vintage DLs that I currently have in my cellar I will be selling them off in protest at the exit to the bottle pick-up.

 

I actually wouldn't be horribly offended by a a DL from '10 or earlier.

I only say that because I have '11 - '16 in my cellar.

It would be pretty bad if this came out after tickets had been sold, but it didn't. If it's a deal-breaker for you, just don't buy group E tickets if that's what comes up.

 

These so called vintage Dark Lord's will probably be 2015 and 2016 bottles that were leftover due to the horrible weather.

If this is a dealbreaker, just make sure you go for A, B or mayb eC to ensure you get a variant.

 

I'm curious as to the reason for this last second change. A variant or two gone bad would seem to be the most logical explanation at this point.

 

We'll probably never know. 3 Floyds doesn't have the reputation of being too transparent when it comes to these things.

 

True. It could always be a last minute increase in tickets available resulting in there not being enough variants available.

• 4 bottles of 2017 Dark Lord Imperial Stout.

Phew, I was worried they'd take away the tote bag.

 

If I'm shelling out $180 I'd sure want to have a guaranteed variant included.

 

Well now you don't. Looks like you're saving yourself $180 and a day at the country's best bottle share.
