Darklord Day 2017

I think more folks will get variants than just the first 3 groups....only because I don't think FFF has been sitting on that many vintage DL bottles year over year.

 

I mean, people are spending lots of their money on this festival. They're allowed to post concerns about it. There are a select few on here that seem to exaggerate every concern into the newest "bitching and/or whining" joke they can't wait to make.

 

No idea. I was just throwing it out there.

 

Anyone else think FFF might have some regrets for shipping so many previous year's DL variant leftovers to sell at Warpigs?

I'd rather get a voucher or put my name on a list to come pick up a variant 6 months from now when they can make a new one vs get stuck with vintage bottles.

 

Guys I heard the vintage bottles will be 2004 and 2005. (lets start more rumors)

 

Had a chance to try 2004 last year. It's awful. Chunky.

 

If E group is the only option, I will not buy.

 

It was a joke in a light-hearted manner. No ill will was meant...it's just DLD thread fun.

 

Maybe they should make the BBQ sauce available as a variant...

 

I'd honestly prefer vintage Dark Lord over some of the variants. Temeculan was straight up terrible and an insult to charge $50 for it.

Now the ticket buying gets interesting.

Do I try for group E knowing there's a much greater chance at scoring a ticket?

 

Or does it make pub tickets for A that much more appealing of a risky venture...

Also, I hope the result of the shortage is something beneficial like "wow, we kegged way more variants for the draft then we had planned so they should be on draft all day...."

 

I'll go the cynical speculation route: there's no VBDL this year because it's all infected. They're going to announce it the day of the fest and thousands of angry neckbeards will burn the place to the ground. It'll be SO METAL!

 

How pissed will all the group A people be when they reveal two days before the fest that marshmallow handjee was the variant that was dumped

And some guys will salvage some from the drain and still give it a 5 on Untappd.

 

Except that they wouldn't dump it, they would cover it up with spices and call it something like Temeculon 3000 or Earl of Biggleswade....

 

or they would hand it out and just not tell anyone it's infected because that's the way they roll

 

I was going to try and grab some tickets this year, but all this new info may keep me out.
