Is it done by number of posts per page or length of posts?
I said it a few pages back, but I totally recommend making a half dozen sandwiches and throwing them in Your back pack with your bottles. It takes 10 min.
Nothing fancy. A loaf of sliced bread, a pound of deli meat of your choice, a slice of cheese and maybe some deli mustard. Wrap them in plastic wrap and throw them on top of your bottles.
They are a life saver to be able to pull out of your bag when you're 3 hours into drinking and just need something easy but filling.
I eat sandwiches just about everyday at work for lunch. Not sure I want them at DLD. I like that White Castle idea!
So, I've been trying to sleuth and look at various bands tour schedules to see if any fit into to performing at DLD. I've not found anything.
I think we have our 2 national touring bands figured out. The rest will be local or regional bands.
Only problem with White Castle is that many trips to the Porto John that would follow.
Hard to believe we've come this far, 60 pages and not one bit of useful information. Does anyone even come to this page in hopes of getting some tidbit of information? Or are we all just in it for the laughs at this point. Any actual useful information will hit twitter or Facebook first, and then we will all come here to argue about it. Here's to 60 more pages of nonsense! I'm thinking PB&J sandwiches wedged in between the bombers in my backpack this year. See you all in the mud!
I have heard that the delay is due to licensing, so my guess is that anything you might have had on a private tour wasn't made for distribution; probably them just playing around on equipment. They can't start distilling there for distribution until they have all the licensing in hand.
I know a guy who was given a sample of a distilled Gumballhead a while back, before the building was even finished, and said it was fantastic. So, seems like Nick Floyd has been playing around with it for a while now.
Welcome to the annual DLD thread. We're all special people. And you've just about nailed it on the head with your observation.
People do come here "looking" for useful information.... Then they get made fun if and go away.
All the rest of what you said was beyond my comprehension levels, but this right here sounds like a superb idea!
And weather update for today, looks like 68 degrees and mostly cloudy, hasnt changed in a few days
Yeah, it usually takes at least one attendance before becoming a seasoned, grizzled, jaded prick.
I was all those things before dark lord existed.
I eat more donuts than anyone I know and have never paid 4 dollars for a donut here in Chicago.
There's definitely going to be some pbj sammys in my backpack.
I just want to know if the 4$ donut comes with a handjee
It does but it's infected this year so enjoy at your own risk!
It does come with vanilla and/or marshmallow. You're on your own for the Handjee.
I think I'm in this thread too often. I had a dream about DLD last night. I was late for some reason, so I was rushing through the line to try to get a variant. I got one, and I was excited until I looked at it. It was aged in red wine and sake barrels with fermented shrimp. I think I would rather have the one with hot mustard and cardamom.
Considering the commonality of over priced donuts, Im surprised Three Floyds hasn't gotten on board.
$5/ Dark Lord dunked donut. $50 for vanilla frosting.
If you end up eating all 6 of your sandwiches that each has a pound of deli meat like you mentioned above, I think you may run (see what I did there?) into the same problems.
I think my excitement of constantly checking is the difference between being in Group D last year vs. A this year...besides the mental work break.
I don't expect to hear any tidbit of useful real Dark Lord Day information till the month of, heck none of us even physically have our tickets yet unless for some reason you expedited it...I'd think they ship in the next week or two.
Not even sure that's true. I expedited mine last year and they came after most people who chose regular shipping option received theirs. This year I went with standard regular shipping.
Ok $3 donut then.
But is the frosting barrel aged?
Yes, but in 35 year old malört barrels
I heard a rumor on reddit that this year's BA vanilla frosting was infected...
Stan's loaded ones are 3.60 each. Stan's is also one of the places that serve those ridiculous ones people post and talk about.
Those "pockets" aren't real donuts. That's like a pastry. I get it though, I don't really eat donuts for breakfast or anything. I typically view those "gourmet" donuts like I look at fancy cupcakes that people go to sprinkles and pay 4-5 bucks for.
But then again, I am more of an old fashioned/ yeast ring donut type of guy so I really don't pay more than 3 dollars a donut. I go to the places in the suburbs like a Munster donuts and enjoy those the same. No one is going to pay for a 3 dollar donut in Munster and honestly with the type of fancy sweets in america these days, they are priced appropriately here in Chicago.
Who cares about donuts? It's all about the tote bag the donuts are served in...
They're not all gonna be for me!
And in my defense, 1 White Castle slider would have me blowing up the John all day.
While White Castle, big stouts, and wild ales didn't make for a pleasant Sunday last year , I did make it through DLD without any explosions. But it sounds like I may be pressing my luck.
Im just planning on making a few hoagies for myself for the day, maybe even different flavors like turkey or ham
You guys. Just buy a six pack of Cliff Bars. For real. You aren't going to give a shit what anything tastes like (and the chocolate flavor pair well with stouts anyways). You want something immediate and filling. You also wont care if they get smashed up in your bag.

When accepting handjees from strangers, always double bag it.
how much are glasses usually?
sorry for posting a serious question.
