Only big tiddy assassins are allowed to post here
Sadly this backpack is not available anymore since it's been discontinued by REI, but a bunch of guys from my local beer group picked these up last year when they went on clearance and it works great:
If you come across one on ebay or maybe even hiding in a local REI, it's absolutely worth it - plenty of space for layering cans, bottles and food.
Things I would like include bottle dividers the ability to have multiple layers along with easy to carry and thermo efficient.
Last year, I used http://www.brooksengland.com/en_us/cycle-bags/new-islington-rucksack-3.html and was able to fit 2 allocations with variants. And I did carry it till about 4 when I left. The cross straps were money for carrying it all day.
In the original poster's defense, I would also put as much Morningwood in my mouth as possible. Delicious beer.
Too lazy to search through the thread so: Are crowlers ok to bring? I thought I read that growlers weren't
For that much money it better carry itself.
All beer that you leave with must be sealed. Because they can't guarantee that a growler is sealed they are not allowed. Since you're just going to enter with a crowler and throw it away they are allowed.
Slight amendment...they don't check bags upon exiting, so we can all leave with anything we are willing to stuff in a backpack, including broken shards of handjee that our drunk ass thought would be a good idea to lick clean the next day.
Seventeen hours without a reply? Damn this thread is lame. Lets bump this, any early ideas of what everyones bringing?
Early list for me:
BAVSS 16, Ground State, Saison Bernice, BA Darkness, Sump, No Rules, Flying Buffalo Coffee, Soliloquy, Rye Hipster, Black Note.
Going to be a long drive home Sunday.
Other half/Sand City cans
Leave the rest of it at home and fill your backpack with rye hipster. So damned good. I have one left, picked up while traveling up north a few weeks ago. I will not be taking it to a share, I will be having it for breakfast some day when I have nothing to do.
M-43 x 2
Hazels nuts or hipster brunch crowler
Lone Pint - Yellow Rose
Brash - Pussy Wagon
Whatever Treehouse is canning that week
If we're going to start this, my plan is some fresh Mikerphone and/or Noon Whistle plus a variety of smaller format stouts. Stuff like BA Java Ten Fidy, Tweak, Black Note, Dosvidanya, Hazel's Nuts, maybe some recent Bourbon County variants or BA Prairie. Stout bombers would depend on space.
So far I'm thinking I'll bring:
Central Waters 19th Anniversary
Firestone Walker 20th Anniversary
Pipeworks Over the Line
Cycle Pallet 1 (Coffee and Cinnamon)
Prairie Vanilla Noir
Noon Whistle whatever Gummy series is available
Mikerphone whatever IPAs or stout is availabe
one bigger bottle. Possibly Chaos '17 or something along those lines.
Probably some Side Project, 2nd Shift, and Narrow Gauge.
Find me at DLD. I'll bring an extra with your name on it.
Save me a small pour of BY, that one keep eluding me...of course I bring some heat myself to share
A backpack full of food. And I mean full. Because of @That_Bearded_Guy and @PrestigeWorldwide lists.
Sandwiches. Breakfast burritos. Chorizo scramble. Cliff bars of all kinds. Maybe some kind bars. Who knows! Maybe even grilled cheese sandwiches! Man I'm pumped.
I think I am bringing
Temeculan 3000 I guess I will find out if it really sucks
Rue D'Floyd 2014
Rue D'Floyd 2017
Probably a couple of others
They will very likely have Temeculon 3000 on draft at some point as well as, Rue 2017 which people should have no trouble finding on draft given the yields.
Rum Death by Coconut
Whatever Heist has for crowlers
Some Cycle stouts (weekdays or anniversary)
It is exciting reach this point where after many months (almost a year) of collecting beers to finally break them out.
Central Waters Black Gold
FB BA French Toast
BL Ground State
BL Reaction State
BL Fundamental Observation
A whole bunch of Treehouse
I'm sure there's a few I'm missing.
I'm looking to bring:
Jk fen Tao
De garde imperial orchard bu
Rhythm rug b1
I'm sure I'll go home with a bottle or 2, but hey I'd rather have good stuff to share.
If you have a growler of something you really want to share, it can always be shared/consumed in the line to enter the fest in the morning, which will take a good 90 min to 4 hours depending on what time you arrive.
Planning on bringing the following, with potential updates to come:
Listermann BA Vanilla Cinnamon Chickow
Sun King BA Timmie
Taxman Death and Taxes
And some Cycle Stuff, maybe Rare DOS Red or some of the Trademark series
I've never heard of 95% of these beers you people are listing.
I think I will be bringing:
Vanilla hazelnut zhukov
Last snow in buffalo
I will be bringing at least
Robin Hood Oaked Saint Hood
Robin Hood Crooked Arrow 1 & 2
Russian River 2015 Consecration
Allagash Golden Brett
And a few other undecided fun things
Burial cans, The Veil cans, Wicked Weed
Even better! You get to expand your beer horizons.
Yeah, don't forget to write your user name on your forehead for me.
Found out a few variants over the weekend. ( I may know a guy or two )
French vanilla militia, coffee , double barrel and I think cherry are the for sure variants. ( Fvm was just bottled on Friday )
That would be groin-grabbingly good if true.
FUCK THAT SHIT. PABST. BLUE. RIBBON.
My list so far is as follows:
Imperial Breakfast Magpie
Upland - Pawpaw
Rare Barrel - Afterlight
Pliny the Elder
Rye Hipster Brunch
Central State - Lazer Raptor, Raznarok, Polyjuice Potion
Sun King - Whip Fight
Coconut Rum Dragon's Milk
Daredevil - Rip Cord crowler
Black Circle - White Bronco NEIPA growler (for the line)
Likely a few more TBD......
Plus, of course, a full batch of Breakfast Stout brownies, and I'll be bringing a grill and making sausages in line for breakfast. Come find me, I can't drink all of this on my own!
Like everyone else's list, this may change, but
Bruery Hoarder's Cuvée
Brash Hammer Smashed Face
JK Atrial Rubicite or Montmorency vs Balaton (not sure yet)
Karbach Bourbon Barrel Hellfighter - Vanilla
Those brownies sound good! Care to share the recipe? Also, any plans to barrel age them?
Ha! Will do. I'll make sure I hand out my BA business cards too.
I told my Contact the same thing. He said
For sure fvm, coffe , double and cherry though
