If you're earlier in the line I'd think so. Moved really fast last year. Don't listen to @Bugsmcl
Yes. Lines moved insanely fast last year. I was Group E and got my allotment at 3:30. I expect the same this year. No Golden Tickets and cash exchange has spend up the process.
A Saudi Arabian driving school?
A members-only event at Augusta National Golf Club
A beer event with one ticket per person. Fewer SO's used as mules.
Think I just thought of the winner: vintage baseball card collectors convention.
The sharing is number 1 in my book. I love getting drunk and meeting drunk strangers and oogling over beers together.
You'll be sorry you did if you do. Stay a while.
Depends on what time you get there and how long it takes you to get into the festival. If you get there a couple hours early, before group C goes, you should be good.
Page 200 here we come
I'll get this back in the right direction... Did you guys hear lead singer of Dragon Abortion got arrested for soliciting a one legged one eyed Siagon whore?
OLOESW is their newest single, too.
Ah yes, the long-awaited follow-up to their classic concept album "That's The Saigon Whore That Bit My Nose Off"
But not as good as their debut album "Rape the fucking bitches in Hell and kill all the angels in Heaven, does this sound like a good enough title to be a fake metal album because it has a swear word in it and an offensive word".
This is my first DLD as well, but having been to 2 Darkness Days... my MAIN reason for attending isn't the allotment. It's the share. The share, the camaraderie of meeting other beer nerds and salivating (preferably not into) over amazing beer... getting told by an arrogant beer geek that I've never met "You LIKE this? Your palate needs WORK!" That's the stuff I am most looking forward to.
What was the beer that I said I liked that drew the above "palate" remark? Brandy barrel aged DL.
I believe that album went triple platinum.
Was that really their debut? Cuz it seems like something from their meta-metal phase a couple albums later.
Pro tip for the kiddies: don't engage in underage headbanging, it takes years off your life and your... uh... thing that helps you remember stuff (whatever it's called) is the first thing to go...

Can't wait to see all of you Aborted Drakes (DA fans).
Too late for me.
I was group C last year at 1 pm and if the line was anything like last year you will be in and out under 5 minutes. I walked, correction stumbled and half carrying my drunk buddy through the zig zag rope posts without ever stopping due to people in front of us. Got into the allotments they rip the bottom of the ticket, hand you a terrible tote bag of 4 DLs, send you to pick a variant and then we were out. Multiple people people working the reg DL allotments as well as per a variant at each table.
I guess those guys are everywhere. I don't care what the beer was... that's just absurd.
Decided to quit lurking and log in just to post here. So close to 100 pages, and talking about almost nothing. It's like a beer drenched Seinfeld.
No soup for you!
OMG this doesn't take much effort. Let me fix this for you.
"NO VARIANT FOR YOU! BACK OF LINE!! YOU GET VINTAGE!!"
Is anyone else a group B and thinking that the 8 am shuttle isn't early enough? I worry that I'll get there at 9, and if the line somehow is a shitshow, I'll be getting in for my allotment later than I'd like. I guess I should preface that by saying I'd like to be one of the first people in B to get my allotment. So, I'm thinking that sharing an Uber earlier may be the way to go if anyone is interested.
I was group B last year, got in line around 9:30am, once we got in the gates went straight to the warehouse to get our beers. We both got FVM zero issues. Plan on doing the same this year.
So is anyone down to start the dragon abortion band and headline next year's dld? Haha
Yes, but everything is an hour earlier this year, right?
"They say in the land of the blind, the man with 1 eye is king...well, in the land of the skunks, the man with half a nose is king!"
We practice on tuesdays.
In my Mom's basement. She makes us snacks.
Group B pickup actually starts an hour and a half earlier (11 instead of 12:30).
I had the same thought, you're probably not going to have much margin for error if you are group A or want to be early group B.
Using the composite DA / DLD 2017 image I put together a couple of days ago.
I bought too soon!
Anyone looking for a ride from the NW Suburbs? I've got a 24 passenger bus leaving from Schaumburg near Wise/Roselle Rd at 9am (arriving at the Munster Speedway at 10am-ish). Looking to add a stop in the Bartlett area before at 8:45am if there are enough people out that way that want to ride. We'd leave DLD at 6:30pm in the evening. Ideally, it's great if you're in groups B-E. The bus will not be available to store your allotment during the event.
It's $800 total with one stop and $860 with a stop in Bartlett (including taxes and tip). Right now I've got 11 people w/no stop ($800) so it's $72 round trip but the more people we add the price goes down. DM if you're interested.
I think we can hit 100 pages today....
Anyone else hope they bring back the Dark Lord Hot Dog?
I've never had it but I have heard about it. So far I've had the tacos (which were awesome) and the burger (which was pretty damn good). I wanted the breakfast tacos last year but didn't see them. I'm not sure if they were around for 2016. @kodt do you happen to know?

Be careful for what you wish for, it may just be the variant you wind up with.
