I posted a ISO: Darkness & Dark Lord FT: White Choc & Parabola, but didn't get any bites. New(ish) to trading, so I'm wondering if I was way off the mark here. Just wanted a little feedback..

Your main error was probably trying to get both. Usually they're both about equally hard to trade for, but I think FFF dropping the limit on DL down to 3 this year made it much harder than normal to get.

I'd guess you could get either with White Chocolate, but it might take some trying.

Both WC and Parabola might get you one bottle of Darkness or Dark Lord.

Best way to get DarkLord (other than going) is to have a regular trade partner. The FT Dark Lords in the ISO/FT forum have been pretty absurd.

My advice - keep the bottles you have. Parabola is the better of the three stouts you listed and since the $4$ is lower, you're really not doing yourself any favors other than to tick a beer off.

As the other fella said, you shooting for both regional limited brewery only beers means you're only talking to folks who either went to both or traded for both - in which case it'll be harder to get out of their hands. Having said that, White Chocolate will land you a Darklord since it was released most recently and more are still out there.

Besides, one diabetes injection for another diabetes injection seems fair enough.

Not trying to tick, but am interested in trying Dark Lord. And to date, Darkness is my favorite of the stouts I've tried (including Parabola).

    Thanks for the feedback though.

You just narrow yourself into paying more when it's off season is all. We're what? A bit north of six months or so since the last Darkness release? By now those who still have one to trade are holding on to it for the next release or at the very least not giving it up for a song.

Dark Lord is easier to land since it just came out, and I think I did end up trading a White Chocolate for a Darklord (and a bomber of something else FFF) without any problem recently. But yeah, your biggest problem is trying to land a deal for both in one shot.

Long story short, the most difficult way to get a trade done is to go for multiple limited bottles in one deal. You just really shrink your group of potential traders by looking for both from one person, and then that just makes it harder to get it done with specific bottles.

Parabola is pretty close, just maybe a hair short for both. (definitely for Darkness) WC would probably get it done, but as Mordor said, WC has kind of made the rounds already.

I'd put up an ISO along the lines of "FT: Parabola+ ISO: Darkness, Dark Lord".

I haven't even been able to get a response in searching for Darkness over the past 4 attempts I've made. I've been throwing out a list which includes Parabola and a number of harder to get offerings from NG and CW and basically making it a tell me what it takes. Nada. I've traded for Darkness numerous times in the past, typically 1:1 with something like Parabola but now can't get a bite with Parabola +. Any ideas why this is?

So I know someone who wants to trade me a 2013 dark lord for westies. How many westies do you think is fair deal? Just need some advice I don't want to rip him off and I want to keep it fair.

Based on the price of the bricks in the US, I'd say 1.

2 would be more than fair and makes up for the cost of that ticket. 1 + glass is fair too. Don't be totally shocked if the person wants 1 + something else.

probably because wisconsin is super close for us(Minnesotans at least) and we can get most all the cw/ng stuff with ease. granted I woulda probably been tempted to trade a darkness for parabola+ but alas I have traded all mine away and don't even have a bottle for myself.

your best bet is to set up a pre-trade before darkness day, or just come out to darkness day.

I got this year's Dark Lord with a Jolly Pumpkin Biere de Mars GR. Not sure if that's of any help to you or not... But you might need something slightly more "limited" or "exclusive" than Parabola to land them, since that can be found on the shelves in many places. I would think the WC would get at least one of them done, though.

Are your 'gots' up to date? You've got a few things in there that would surely land them.....
