Looking to attend my 1st Darkness Day. Just wondering what time the wristbands run out and what time they start selling the bottles. I work 3rd shift and need to ask off for Friday or Saturday (not both) I've been trying to figure out timing by reading posts from last year, but most times am/pm was not mentioned so I'm not sure of the timing of everything.

    Thanks in advance.

Any attempt to figure out a time to be there will be little more than a guess.

Wrist bands have run out anywhere from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM over the past six years.

I believe bottle sales began at either 12:00 or 1:00 last year & the year before. Last year the wrist bands had an hour-long window when you could come pick up your bottles. That seemed to work really well.

^^^ this is all on Saturday, by the way. The bottle share is Friday, but no wristbands are handed out then.

If I don't get a chance to drop by I will make sure I get some of my recent batch of the Habanero Chocolate Stout to my buddy who's coming up from NC for it. He actually comissioned the last batch of it and this last batch is magnificent. I'll try to get him a growler or two of it to bring.

I have a bridal shower to host and cook for the next day, but I'm still hauling my ass down there on Friday (cupcakes in tow yet again) to enjoy one of the best nights of the year. I'll have to leave earlier than usual and relatively sober, but I still intend to have a hell of a good time.

Of course my night has now changed. Have tickets to see the Black Keys on the 24th. Some college friends want to meet up at the football game at school on Saturday. I want to volunteer and get my beer. Decisions decisions.

So what's everyone bringing for food. We'll be packing some sausages from Kramarczuk's, chocolate truffles, giant pretzels, meat and cheese platter and donuts from Glam Doll.

Band update: Thrill Jockey tweeted that Oozing Wound, Goatwhore, and Yakuza are playing. I don't know the excellently named OW or GW, but Yakuza is pretty great.

I will be up from Oklahoma for wedding on Saturday....if I have to leave for the wedding by 12:30PM Saturday, is there any chance of getting some of this year's Darkness? I may just come up with some OK stuff to trade and share on Friday/Saturday AM.

If you're in line early on Friday, you should get wristbanded for an early sales group and be good to leave with your allocation by 12:30.

Exactly....uunnnnllllesssss you're like my buddy @richardflyr 's brother Eric and somehow lose your wristband. Then you're there together, hungover, until past 3 pm. But hey, got to drink some Darkness and other great stuff on tap while there! Love the tea-bagged casks!

Hey guys! Lots of great insight here. Read each page on this topic and this seems awesome. A friend are I are doing this for the first time and driving from Chicago. Just a couple more questions on my part. And I apologize if they were already answered. 1) We plan to leave after work Friday and get there around 1130pm - mind night. Do you guys think this would be ok to get a wristband? 2) My g/f wants to come as well. If it gets too cold or bad, do people skip out and sleep in the car or whatever? Can she join us back in line? It'll be just three of us and won't really know anyone going into it. But can't wait to meet all the fantastic people. Cheers!
