not that it's a surprise or that it means anything for Darkness day, but I talked to several distro accounts in the MSPL this week that confirmed Eight would be released to distro "some time" after Darkness.

I've been traveling to DD from the Chicago area for years and everybody that I've come in contact with is more than generous regardless of what beer you have to share. That being said, as someone stated above, it's always good to bring stuff from your local market that people in MN can't get. Being in the Chicago market FFF, Pipeworks, Half Acre and Revolution, just to name a few, always go over well. You could also try bringing up some growlers. I've brought up growlers from Haymarket, Piece and Solemn Oath in the past that went over really well. Hope you enjoy your first DD.

I think there is about a 0% chance that 8 bottles will be sold at Darkness Day. It is enough of a challenge to get the Darkness bottles handed out and Surly needs a special license from the city just to sell bottles that day. Surly could have 8 on tap however.

Eight is actually going to be released in bottles next spring, under its new name- Nine. Two birds, one stone.

Big lobos truck will be in full effect. He welcomes all. Well, scratch that, he welcomes most, and yes the blind bottle BIF will be in full effect.

I've heard great things about Revolution Unsessionable. IMO that would be a bigger hit than ZD because you will find very few people at DD that haven't already had ZD. It's one of the beers I'm on the lookout for on my drive up.

8 hasn't been released yet? I was drinking it last week at a Surly GABF event at Star Bar

You really want to stop for Unsessionable, the best IPA that Revolution has put out to date! The 10% packs a hell of a punch!!

They have poured 8 at a few events, but have not set a date for bottle release.

Interesting. Considering I'm in Minneapolis every week, I was quite surprised to have 8 for the first time out in Denver...

So beer ticket prices are up a dollar from last year. Does this infuriate anyone?

With Darkness pricing not yet announced, I imagine the fury will end up being spread pretty broadly

I guess I can't complain. $5 is still pretty decent as long as they offer other goodies. I don't have a problem drinking $5 Cacao Bender.
