Am I the only one that's remembering that the barrel aging from last year was more of a necessity because of the move to the new brewery? They brewed Darkness early, barreled it, and then threw it in an offsite warehouse so it wouldn't be an issue as they transitioned everything.

Not saying you are wrong at all, it certainly could have helped from a scheduling standpoint, but that does seem like kind of an expensive way to store beer if that's your only motivation. They could have just as easily bottled it early and stored the bottles I think. I don't have any insider info though so could be wrong.

I remember that...barrel aged darkness isn't bad...but it isn't world class like the base stout is either. Definitely entry to middle level quality

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I guess.

But since you scored "world-class" Darkness 4.52 and "entry to middle level quality" barrel-aged Darkness 4.27, permit me to wonder at the accuracy of your post. And opinion. Which one, I'm unsure.

Thats correct maximus, 4.5 and above is world class for me and 4 to 4.5 is middle level quality, again my opinion

    Sure it does...

    0-4 is junk
    4- 4.5 is ok
    4.5+ World class

    HAHAHA

Really depends, 2years ago I had friends show up at 7am and still get wrist bands, year before that I believe the last wrist band was handed out at 11:30 am Sat. This last year I can't remember I was too busy crushing beers.

Question about parking - if you're one of the first people there on Friday can you park your vehicle by the line? Or are all those spots strictly for people who have paid off the local businesses for parking?

No parking on the street. You'll be directed to park in one of the nearby businesses that Surly has made arrangements with. Some is close to the street, some is behind the various buildings.

I can only imagine bourbon vanilla darkness will be the last variant they add to the list.

So glad I can drink a dumpster fire while watching dumpster juice... I may sit on a dumpster for good measure.

How difficult is Darkness to get in distro? Not sure I'll be able to make it to Darkness Day.

I may have to take a nap after wristbands are handed out, so I'm somewhat coherent when Pelican takes the stage.
