That could very well be, but it will probably be snowing also. :stuck_out_tongue:

The girlfriend and I have decided to attend! I'm excited for the bottle sharing, however, I am a virgin to bottle shares and how they work. Anyone wanna help me out on how it works at d-day?

Most bring what they deem their higher end beer and share with their own group, or introduce themselves and share with others. In all honesty, I've only run into extremely generous people willing to share if you walk around with a bottle doing the same.

its pretty much an open bottle share. you generally have a huge mix of people. many times its a simple mingling with those around you.

if you have certain brews in mind, then you might check out this thread and post on the shared doc. http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...ay-trading-shares-thread.336108/#post-4126492

Except for the chances of rain that is a nice forecast/temps for the end of October.

I'm a little disappointed with the beer list so far. Hopefully next week they'll announce they're pouring Zombie Prius.

For you more experienced campers and Darkness Day eve'rs out there, are there some recommendations for must have gear to survive Darkness Day Eve, especially if it is really cold or raining/snowing?

Just off the top of my head, I have:

    beer
    tent
    tarp for under tent
    sleeping bags
    blankets
    plenty of layers
    changes of clothes
    hats/gloves/boots
    lots of water
    food
    rain gear
    chairs
    heat source
    light
    pee jugs?
cooler to keep stuff from freezing?

    What else?

I don't know a lot about many of the bands, but I do really enjoy Pelican. Should be a fun time.

Maybe this is a Minnesota thing, but what the hell is a pee jug?

Mostly added that in an attempt to be funny, but after seeing the horror that were the porta-potties last year in the morning, it may not really be a joke.

But basically a jug to pee in, something like an empty gallon water jug.

Just wanted to be sure. I know there are some cultural differences between Iowa and Minnesota, I was unsure if a pee jug was an actual thing or not. I was imagining some modified growler with a resealable top.

Your "pee jug" or "piss pot" should NOT look anything like a growler, and it should be CLEARLY labeled!

I'm peeing in Bourbon County Variant bottles and recapping them for those who try and steal my beer this year. You've been warned.

Will it be Bourbon County variant pee? That could change a lot!
