I think that is what I'll have to do. I'll still be there Friday night, and I'll come back after I meet my contractor, but I'll probably be stuck with the first come first serve crowd.

 

dont think there has been any official announcement but the rumor is 3/3 at Darkness Day and BA is Darkness Day only, non-BA is retail. again, all speculation.

 

Todd tweeted that he "didn't know" if BA would be for sale on DD

 

I heard that both versions will hit retail. Regular will hit retail first, week after D-Day. BA version will hit retail second, a couple weeks later. You can take this with a grain of salt, of course. But if it turns out to be true, I will certainly be all like "You heard it in post #332 first!"

Frankly, the notion that I might have the inside track on something related to TC area distribution before @mingo should be viewed with healthy skepticism, if not outright dismissal.

drives me nuts that surly doesn't do any special bottles / cans for MN only. Hopefully the BA will be a darkness day exclusive

 

Are people really that big of fans of the BA version of Darkness? Obviously so. I'd prefer the standard version any day over the BA version thus far.

And as far as Darkness Day as an event, we're always treated with exclusive taps.

 

Based on the BA bottles last year and the regular 2015 stuff that was on tap recently, I'll take non BA every time.

They had several hundred barrels of Darkness in HW barrels again but maybe its all for kegs.

Also, "when its ready".

 

I was a big fan of the BA Darkness last year, but having the regular on tap at the brewery this year made me forget all about it.

 

What kind of exclusive taps have they had at previous Darkness Days? The beer list didn't seem like anything "special" (besides Darkness...)

 

Damn, 1500 people in front of me by 10pm? Ouch. I'm coming from Des Moines, IA and I'm buying about 4 cases of Exile Brewing beer outta of Des Moines to share.

Can't wait. Will be my first DD and i'm beyond excited!

 

Really? Obviously you've never attended a Darkness Day then or have a one track mind. I can't remember the last event that didn't have a special couple casks/brews.

 

I won't be able to attend this year due to a brand new addition to the family (only 20 years, 11.5 months until she can mule for me!). If BA does end up being brewery only, I will gladly trade whatever non-BA I can get through distro for BA bottles! I like regular but damn I'm a sucker for a barrel.

 

Correct. I just moved here and have never been to Darkness Day before.

 

On another note, I believe the cell signal is at least decent, so you should be able to check your portfolio while you're waiting in line.

 

No. There have never been 1,500 people in line by anywhere close to 10PM & with the weather forecast, it would be as shocking as a Cubs World Series win if it happened this year. Any chance you're bringing up any 515? You Iowans are constantly prattling on about it & I'd love the chance to check it out!

 

515 has amazing IPAs, I'm hoping someone from Des Moines can bring a few growlers to share with our brothers from the North.
