    They had misanthrope at the tap room when I was there a few weeks after it opened. Wonder if it was a random keg or a sample from a new batch. Tasted good, but needed some more time imo. Really loved the batch I had at the old tap room last summer

    As much fun as i've had on d-day in years past, i may skip this year. Too crowded, and was sickened by all the fat slobs carrying around 10 wristbands and 20 bottles for "themselves", then to get stiffed at the public offering, then to see cases sit in certain locations for over a week. I got my 6 bottles a little over d-day ask, without any hassle.

    I've heard this year its going to be double barrel, with Screaming Eagle barrels and Absinthe barrels.

    I spoke with a surly employee this evening. Darkness day will be on the 24th at Brooklyn center. Surly fest at the new brewery.

    I speculate that Stub and Herbs may have derived that date on pure speculation...but maybe we shouldn't be speculating

    My info is from multiple people at Surly. Brewers, tour guides, some guy standing next to me in the urinal who didn't actually seem to be going to the bathroom, all people I normally would name drop like we are close friends. I went through a decent amount of effort to learn this info because I'm going to have to miss the RTJ concert as a result of the date. Stupid beer. If im wrong and being lied to no one will be sadder than I (unless I can find a spare ticket).

    IMO, 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2012 were terrific every time I tried them. It's too soon to know if 2013 ages well, and my last two bottles of 2014 have developed enough umami to worry me. 2008 has been overpowered by sweetness at every age, and 2011 went south very quickly.

    I think that's total BS. I've been to six Darkness Days, and have never seen a single person issued more that one Darkness wristband.

    I've been to a few as well, and I have no reason to lie. @MNMike was there and can confirm the clowns with multiple wristbands. They were wearing hoodies, and had them (the wristbands) pulled up under the cuff, making it easier to get more. I saw two 300-lb guys walking out with >2 of the 6-pack bags per person in 2014.

    I'm sure everyone get's annoyed by these questions and I know that there's no way to know for sure, but here goes: What are my chances at getting a wristband if I make it there around midnight, or slightly before? I'm planning to drive down from Canada (Winnipeg) with a couple of people and would like to gauge likelihood. Thanks!
