1 per person today, so about 1,500. I believe it was tweeted this week that it will hit distribution in December. Also heard that BA Darkness last year was second use barrels, this year was first use.

Yeah it could mean moving the event to eventbrite , i could see the end of camping out at BC facility, time will tell hope it is not the case however

Omar was walking around last night pouring some 2015 BA Darkness. Far better than last year's attempt.

They have been saying 'this year' is the last year for the past few years. Each year they don't know if they can pull it off. I had the same conversation with Omar last night as I did last year. He said this could be the last year, but obviously doesn't know if it will be.

That being said, what a great d-day this year. Great seeing old friends, new friends, and putting some names to faces.

I admit I"ve never been to this event..but if 1,000 people are in line at 7AM is that really a 'small time event'? From their perspective for better or for worse I'm sure this event has become more hassle than it's worth from a time/energy/liability stance. Cost simply outweighs the benefit..and if they do go to a ticket event, then they can control and prepare for a specific number of people.

I heard 3K, so 1.5K for distro. Surly's site says bottles will see distro.

Real sad to hear the talk of this being the last event, at least in this iteration. The camping and bottle shares have been memorable, but most of all the friends I've made at this event and kept up with over the years (been coming ever year since 2010). I can't imagine it any other way but can understand if it has to change. Hope it doesn't go away entirely.

Was a great time. Would not change a thing. Very well done job of controlling the cutters. I hopefully helped brighten some of the people's day in line while sitting there offering pours to whoever was in line. Thank you to Surly for putting on an awesome event. Thank you to those of you that spent time in the compound sharing and enjoying. Now for some sleepy time.

Were you pouring the KBS? If so, I got you back later with that 13 Abyss. Thanks man!

When Omar told us that this was the last year, I asked if he was serious, and he simply shrugged it off and said "We say that every year. Who knows?"

I'd be surprised if it was the last one, and I think you're right since Omar said the same thing.

Anyone know why they didn't pass out coffee bender kegs after the line was formed this year? Just to keep the chaos to a minimum?

Also, yeah fuck all the line cutters.

They said last year people were using the kegs to kinda "work their way up the line" and also there was some underage concerns. So they had to control the kegs a little tighter.

Anyone know why the 3:00 line took so long? I thought I read you weren't supposed to line up early so I got there shortly before 3 and the line was already very long. After almost an hour of waiting I gave up. I liked it when the line went into the brewery so at least you could drink a beer waiting! I don't why why Surly couldn't just grab your money and hand you your bottles and keep the line moving since everyone was already ID'd. Sorry for the mini rant.

Did anyone end up with a blue REI backpack? Black guitar pick tied to the zipper and a red pendent pinned to it. Would greatly appreciate any info. Feel free to keep the beer inside.

I also don't understand the logic why you need to be able to operate the iPad when you're taking cash. I had an 11am slot and was one of the first to make it in with my buddy. Had to wait for about 5 minutes because they couldn't get the iPad "working" to take my exact $145. My buddy asked why the hell I took so long.

Just a guess but maybe to track the inventory with each sale?

Had a 1:30 wristband. Actually showed up about 1:40ish. Walked right in, walked out with my 7. *shrug*

probably because this was the 'extras' line and the other were small queues they knew they could support in 30 minute wristband groups. I also noticed as we lined up for 2:30 period the line was already getting to be pretty long, Surly may have asked folks to not line up in advance but surely folks who didn't get wristbands were motivated to ensure they got bottles.
