Does anybody know how long the BA version was barreled for?

I had it on tap at Lyndale Tap House, I agree with others re: hops , had a nice fruity hop profile to it. Super smooth and creamy, I'm a fan

3 months is the word on the street. Not sure on source for that though.

I thought last year was hoppier and this year it was back to being sweet again. My palate might be skewed, though, since my base beer for None More Black (before I transform it from a 13% lightweight to a 30% ass-kicker) is super hoppy (120+ibus) - that is a hoppy stout!

It's good, but I'd put 2012 and 2014 above it. I was not much of a fan of 2013 so it's definitely better than that. As far as previous years, I only finally got to try them at this year's Darkness Day and was way too shit faced to judge them properly.

I used to have a theory that Darkness alternated between hoppy/tobacco odd years and sweeter chocolatey/dark fruit even years. 2013 broke that theory and tasted very similar to 2012 to me fresh. I do get more hops and tobacco from this vintage and think it's a more sticky, viscous beer. The best it's been fresh since 2011, IMHO.

It is generously hopped, per Todd its whirlpool hopped with amarillo and simcoe, almost a lb per barrel. Thats on par with your run of the mill pale ale. I love it this year, very drinkable.

There was a pic floating around showing the Darkness in barrels with a date of mid/late July on them.

The 3 month timeframe would seem accurate... the first time any higher ABV Darkness surfaced was early summer at the taproom.

There needs to be an accurate listing here for the 2015 BA Darkness, with the correct picture. I think some people are confused that don't know the difference.

Someone created one, I believe it was cited and linked earlier in this thread and then it got yanked for some reason. Definitely a different beer.

I saw it listed as a duplicate but it had the wrong label art and not the gold scheme. Wonder if that's what confused them.

Yeah, that was me. I have no idea what I am talking about on this site which is why they pulled it is my guess.
