See this is what's upsetting. You get people who land on the hype train "omg I saw this on Instagram/Twitter/hipsterpost and I NEED to try it! Blech, omg so nasty, ewwwww!" and THERE is one of the reasons you can't get any. I'm glad they canned eBay sales for it though. Made it much better imo.

I've been "into beer" since 2007, so I'm a latecomer to it compared to many, and even I can see how startlingly different it is. Every beer release is a shitshow. Douchey people want to be seen/share their one upmanship of "I've had this beer/that beer/unattainable god's piss". A bunch of twits wander in because they want to be "cool" and "in" (i'm getting tired of too much opinion and too little knowledge). People are more concerned with the labels in their cellar than the quality of the beer inside. Those things that used to be around on shelves forever are gone before they even hit the shelves. People follow delivery trucks. I'm waiting for hours overnight to buy a beer (getting tired of this too). I can't get a seat on a weeknight at the Happy Gnome (don't get me started on that place). More beer flows in, but it's not enough to satisfy the expanding market.

I'm sorry, I sound like a crotchety old man. Everyone wanted to "advocate" beer, get people into it, get people excited. Well, this is the result. I don't care if that's "advocating" anymore. I will always be happy to share beer with people, and I will always patronize the stores that recognize me and treat me well. But this is getting crazy. There's plenty of world class beer sitting on the shelves year round that people ignore because it's not coveted by others.
