I believe It’s a DDD Y (or possible Y DDD) one, with a random letter, I haven’t seen a bottle in a while though so I may be misremembering. I’ll counter your Freising with weltenburg. Does anyone have bottles with a a code? If we get enough we may be able to figure something out, we will be like the enigma machine.
Who needs a machine when all you need to do is pull your Little Orphan Annie decoder out of your pocket: Cheers!
Nothing like snarky, non-humorous posts to take away from the helpfulness of a thread and bring it to a screeching halt. @Jacobier10 -- the majority of us appreciate the work you've put in.
Just for reference I had posted a thread about this and was told to email Reissdorf but was ignored. Here was the code I posted last October: R29204D. What the hell does this mean? It can't be the 292nd day of 2020 because I bought it the first week of October. Please help.
Should this thread include other non-German imports as well? Czech, Belgian...etc.? Belgian beer is far more forgiving obviously and typically is clearly dated, but Czech beer could be added to this I would think.
Based upon @AElfwine_Nerevar code I don’t think that would work. His first two numbers are 29 so the first two numbers, based upon that cannot indicate the year. This is just a guess but... 29204 @AElfwine_Nerevar 20231 @shkin that second digit (bolded above and below for clarity) could be the year and the last three could be day of the year. @AElfwine_Nerevar Id hope not but it isn’t out of the question that yours could’ve been canned 2019 and yours @shkin in 2020 All guesses here but I like trying to solve puzzles so I gave it a shot... edit. I will try and remember to check some cans next time I see to see if we can get another one to compare.
Sorry, I forgot to mention that was a bottle code. But yeah, either way it kinda looks like that could be a 2019 bottle. Next time I'm in the packy I will take a gander at the current bottle code and report back.
Why wouldn't it work? Aren't you saying the same thing? From L20231: 0 = year 2020, 231 day of 2020 = Aug 18.
Because his first two numbers are 29, there is no 2029 yet and these are the first two of his code. But yes if you were just referring to your second number, not first two, we’re saying the same thing. I just assumed you meant the first two numbers were representative of the year, since yours happened to be 20. I assumed this because you didn’t explain @AElfwine_Nerevar to him. That’s all. @shkin
Nice work, appreciate having this in one place, so I don't have to google and decipher the results every time I buy German bier! Prost Jacobier10!
I say okay to the Czech or East European beers since most of us who are interested in German beers also like these beers.
