I was recently going through my Grandpa's stuff and found an old bottle of Westmalle Dubbel. It's in a all glass bottle no label other than Westmalle in the glass and Dubbel on the cap. Any thoughts?

It was stored at cellar temps and in a box all these years. NO idea where he would've gotten this thing

Yes, put it in the fridge, once cold, consume. Enjoy!

Personally, I'd rather date a Westmalle Tripel, if you know what I mean.

Seriously though, take a picture of the bottle and post it here. I believe the oldest bottle I've had is an '02 and I'm fairly certain that had a bottle date. I found a site that has '97 vs new bottle design HERE

Neither of those, literally a complete glass bottle, no label at all. Next time I'm at my Mom's I'll take a picture and post.

Definitely post a pic. Realistically it is no good anymore - dubbels can hold up for a couple of years, but you're probably looking at a very ancient bottle. It may have a lot more value as a collector's item or antique, so I wouldn't drink it until you find out more about it.
