Tomorrow I'll be driving down to NEBCO and Two roads. Grabbing brunch at Bella's cafe in New Haven. Don't really know the area too well. Only stopped through on my way to Boston before. Is there anything else worthy of visiting? Obviously food and beer related are a plus but not necessary. Thanks guys!
If your taking 91 there is some good breweries in greater Hartford. Relic, Firefly and Back East to name my favorites. If your on 95/Merrit in only Fairfield/New Haven counties, then I think your spot on. You might want to consider New Haven pizza for lunch, try Modern since Sally's is only open for dinner. Thimble Island is a pretty good brewery just beyond New Haven. And Half Full brewery is in Stamford, I've never been but heard its a pretty good tap room
Prime 16 in New Haven. Mikro in Hamden. Walrus & Carpenter (awesome food too) in Bridgeport. Craft 260 just had a Firefly takeover in Fairfield so I bet their stuff is leftover. Cask Republic in New Haven and the Ginger Man in South Norwalk. OEC if you are into Sours is another brewery to check out. Two Roads is a cool location but the beer is average. Hope this helps.
Thanks that's what I was hoping to hear! I'll add modern pizza to the list and if I have time Thimble island looks good.
Yeah I was never wowed by anything two roads but the GF loves honeyspot. Prime 16 seems to have barrel aged ovila and jack and kens 30th. So I'll check it out
There is also a Prime 16 in Orange which might be a little closer to Two Roads. For the best wings in the state and also awesome beers check out The Dew Drop in Derby. 120 different flavors of wings.
