I'll be in Dayton over the weekend and would like to find some beers that aren't available to me in Michigan. Anyone got a place with good selection/prices? I'll be able to check this thread through saturday.
I just did a google search and the 11th match was someone asking this same question on BA. So I guess more specifically, are beers like White Rajah, Columbus IPA, beers from Hoppin' Frog, difficult to find around town, or will the average liquor store be OK?
In addition to Belmont Part Supply, try Dorothy Lane Market in Springboro. They might not have anything different, but on occasion things that sell out quickly/are limited at Belmont can still be found at DLM.
A little north of dayton near the intersections of I-71 and I-75 at the "Miller lane" exit is a place called the wine and liquor warehouse that has a pretty good selection of beers and a growler station.
As Keffa stated above, I don't think you will find Columbus IPA in Dayton. You will have to travel east to Columbus area (about an hour or so drive). Although Dayton gets Brew Kettle stuff, I don't think you will find White Rajah. Others have already made some good suggestions as far as stores. One other store that hasn't been mentioned is Arrow Wine and Spirits which has two stores. One in Centerville and one in Kettering. Belmont Party Supply is the best one. If you are looking for IPA's, I have started seeing Fat Heads Head Hunter IPA popping up around Dayton. I recently saw it in a store in Tipp City which is just north of Dayton but it is possible other stores in Dayton area has it as well. Good Luck.
Also, the wine and liquor warehouse is near the I-70 and I-75 interchange (not I-71) close to Miller Lane. It is off of Exit 59 on I-75. The main road is Miller Lane as mentioned above but the exit is "Benchwood/Wyse" exit.
Yea my bad. 75 and 71 aren't anywhere near each other there. The store is tucked back to the left of wal-mart and one of the guys said they are going to be expanding their beer selection last time i was there. Like hitting that place up when i don't feel like making the drive to belmont.
I live just a few miles from the store so I go there somewhat frequently. Not sure the last time you were there but they have expanded their beer selection. They have a nice selection of single bottles. Best selection of single bottles in the area next to Belmont Party Supply
Arrow wine Centerville has a pretty decent selection. Belmont is still the best though. If your looking for bars check out South Park, Lucky's, Trolley Stop and Chappys.
thanks for all your help guys. My g/f and i went to Belmont and I found a few things I really wanted to try. Ended up going to some bar called Boston's and they had a decent beer selection, though most of it was stuff that was readily available here in MI. Just drank a few Brown Shuggas and called it a night. Thanks again everyone.
