I've had my sights on trying to score one of these bad boys but I'm not sure how much to offer for it. I've got the following that I'm considering making an offer with:
    DL 14
    Darkness 13
    BA Behemoth
BA Alpha Klaus w Tart Cherries
    BA Alpha Klaus w Orange
Brouwerij Okie (Prairie Side Project, 500 bottles)
    FFF Chevalier
    Mexican Cake
    Melange 3
    Eclipse Elijah Craig 12 year
    GI Gillian
    Cantillon Lambic 100% bio 2013 375
    NG Strawberry Rhubarb
    NG Belgian Red
    KBS
    120 min
FFF bombers (Back masking, Rabbid Rabbit, APW, War Mullet, Alpha Klaus)
As many current Prairie shelf as needed (Bomb, Belt, WB Noir, Funky Gold Mosiac, Willows)

I'd like your feedback on what I should offer and if I'm close or off.

    I got mine with

    2013 Black Tuesday $30
Bourbon barrel vanilla shake $30 (shipping is about $14 of that)
    Bourbon county backyard rye $20
    Parabola 2014 $15
    Bourbon county barley wine $5
    Black note $5

So around $100 worth of beer. Some of it "shelf" beer, but expensive and delicious shelf beer. If I didn't have extras of all these I wouldn't have traded them. Its all about finding the right trader. Sometimes that takes a while.

I think at this point, it's going to be VERY difficult to get DB Hunah with what you have, even a large combo of them. at one point you might have been able to package BA Behemoth, Darkness, DL, and more to do so, but the # of DB Hunahs have definitely shrunk by at least half. I'm guessing there are very, very few people left who have 2+ DB Hunah. good luck regardless.

FWIW, I've traded it twice now (and drank 3), and the 2 I traded were for the following:

    Assassin yellow-wax 1:1
w/ regular Huna for Atrial Rubicite x2, Nocturn Chrysalis x2, Montmorency v Balaton & Cerveza de Tempranillo 2:6

just want to correct this before misinformation spreads. this beer is $22.50 before s/h, not $16

I got mine for ten Black Note, but it was part of a larger trade.

My advice is don't chase these beers. While they may be good they aren't worth such a difference in volume in price.

It almost won't matter what you offer... unless you post your entire list, SOMEONE with no involvement in the trade will post saying it's not enough. People just lurk around the trade forums for this purpose...

I completely agree. My DB Huna was spectacular, but the combined greatness of the beer I gave up for it would have been better.

it's stunning how many people don't realize that rarity is by far the biggest factor in beer trading. how good the beer tastes? - that is a distant 2nd.

Not for me. I'll trade Huna for Black Tuesday all day.

I too disagree. I don't try to trade for beers that I don't think will be worth it. Sometimes they are, sometimes they ain't.

While rarity trumps taste more often than not, that comment is irrelevant in a thread about DB Huna.

Both 15k-20k releases so not sure how that would be a rarity discrepancy?

eh, DB Huna has an almost equal rating to BCBS Coffee - and it would take 10 or more of those to get a DB Huna

    It took us this..

Batch 1 Bells Black Note 750ml
    2013 Kuhnhenn BBBW
2014 Kuhnhenn BA American Stout (2 year barrel jameson wiskey)
Kuhnhenn BA Sunflower Mead (3year barrel aged)

I traded a DB to a regular trade partner for:
    King Henry
    BB4D 12'
    Sucaba 13'
This was the ground work for a larger trade. We were both happy and I made up the $4$ in extras.
Going to take a lot of qty or rarity to pry any remaining away from someone. IMO
It's an incredible beer. Good luck OP

I also know someone who did 2xDB for Rare and Mocha Wednesday right after Huna Day. 2:2 FWIW

Are you sure about that? Seems like BT is way easier to get but I have no idea except that it trades 1:1 with Huna. Hell it traded 1:1 for a growler of Don't Tell Reece, which there are only 100 of. If rarity is all that matters these growlers I sure as hell wouldn't be trading my 100 count growler.

    I didn't realize we were using BA ratings as a be-all, end-all!

but if we are, 4.66 (BCBS Coffee) is not "almost equal" to 4.75 (DB Hunah), given the sample size(s) related to the # of people who could actually obtain said bottles (literally 10s of 1000s for BCBCS vs. maybe 2,000 total people for DB Hunah)
