Save it and come share it with me lol. I've seen this exact trade get posted but don't know if it got done. I would think 1:1 would work but a small plus may be needed.

I've seen a few people post 1:1 offers for DB Huna with both '13 and '14 Assassin recently; none of the OPs ever closed their thread so it's hard to know if these ever got done.

I traded an Assassin for DBH 1:1, no plusses on either side. I had about half a dozen offers after I posted the ISO.

Great question - I'll find out on Saturday, when I open the DBH at a bottle-share in Chicago at which there will allegedly be another Assassin...

I've seen this go 1:1 after the Assassin was released. However, I haven't seen any of these close lately.

I've had both & think it's a worthwhile trade for both parties. Both are awesome beers, well deserving of their hype. My personal preference is Assassin but that's purely a matter of taste.

funny, my preference is DBH, but to be fair, I've yet to pop my '14 Assassin. But DBH may just be the best beer I've ever had though, so there's that lol

for pure trading purposes this certainly seems to be fair 1:1

It doesn't have anything to do with being from Iowa. I love TG, I like Peace Tree & beyond those 2 I don't have much good to say about Iowa breweries including the brewery 2 friends brew for.

Looking around the forums it's obvious that people from all over the country are loving Assassin. Sadly, it's not just an Iowa thing. I don't get why you think it is regardless of your personal preferences.

Some people prefer Assassin to DBH while others prefer DBH. Naturally, some would disagree with me regarding both & prefer another or even (gasp) dislike both. Any of those choices/opinions are legal, moral & at least marginally sound.

I'm from Iowa and also prefer assassin over DBH. However I also preferred regular Huna to DBH. All a matter of preference and that's what is great about beer!

I do agree that 14 Assassin is very sweet but I look forward to trying one at 6 months and a year to see how it has mellowed.

To the original point, I believe 1:1 is fair.

I definitely admit I liked DB Huna better then Assassin. I have had Assassin a lot more then a couple of times and think it IS a great beer. Phishporce you obviously don't like stouts that are really sweet. I personally do. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. I think 1:1 is pretty close to fair.

HawkeyePA, a friend & I also prefer regular Huna to the DBH. I didn't mention this above because it's not that DBH is substandard. It's that the regular is so fucking awesome.

The adjuncts are much more muted in the DBH, so while it remains a works class ba stout, it's lost too much of that unique Huna character. I'm not unhappy with this. The regular is much more available & trades for far less.

Conversely, I prefer the ba Abraxas to the regular by a lot. My very favorite among my general favorites seems to be the one I drank last, lol.

Completely agree. Not trying to take anything away from DBH, it's a fantastic beer. Cinnamon and chile much more prominent in regular Huna, which is why I preferred it.

I love a great barrel forward ba beer but there are a number of em available. There really is only one Huna & I prefer to get the whole Huna experience when I'm drinking that beer.
