    they're 750's, damnit! :grinning:

in all seriousness, i think it just varies from trader to trader... but i have to believe the vast majority of them don't want to trade for quantity. your best bet would be to just put it out there and be vigilant with reposting it every few days and hoping it hits the right set of eyes.

oh I was able to acquire a DB Huna (not for myself, for a Euro trading partner who really wanted one) but am not looking for one myself. Huna isn't my thing, other people love it and that's what makes the world go around! my comments were more general.

I think the amount of quantity trades that get done v the ones that don't really speak for itself that more people would rather have X whale in there cellar thab a quantity of more common beers.

Thanks again for all of the info. Sadly, this thread has just fueled the fire even more for me. Hopefully, I can bump it back to the top at some point with a picture of me holding the white whale.

I'd gladly trade DBH for a case of BCBCS.

Would an Armand & Tommy land a DBH?

Would 4 hunas be too much for a DBH?

Depends on what years they are. Most people that have DBH would have reg Huna as well or would be able to get them easily.

Personally I have 2 DBH and would be open to trading 1 away for the right offer, but as I live in Tampa and still have '13 & '14 Hunas I wouldn't consider that trade at all. Now if they were multiples of '10, '11 and '12's I would give it some thought for sure.

But that's just like, my opinion, man...

    So 4 2014's might work?

For me? No, it would not work.

While I think that the '14 Huna is one of the best batches of reg Huna that CCB made, I think that the DBH is one of the best beers that CCB has ever made in its history (granted I haven't had the AB BA Huna from '12) and I would be hard pressed (but not impossible) to trade it away.

Others might think differently...sadly the only way to tell is to brave potential thread-shitting & make a post and see if anyone bites.

I would trade my DBH for 24 BCBCSs, even without trying my DBH. I can't imagine any one beer being more enjoyable than the experience of 24 BCBCSs.

I would also trade a DBH for a mix of bcbcs/BN/bbpt5 as long as the pt5 wasn't from the most recent release. I've drank a shit ton of DBH and have considered trading 1-2 of what I have left and that's a quantity offer it would take for sure.

not sure what your point is here.

All I'm saying is that people who say "quantity for quality doesn't get done" underestimate how often it does get done. I saw a DB Huna traded for a case of Heady. I personally did a 6:1 to acquire LIL and I just traded Fou for a bunch of Heady. I'm about to trade Cherry Rye for some quantity. so...does it get done a lot? I have no idea. but the idea works

Any thoughts about the appropriate ratio of DB Huna vs pre-trading for 2014 Prop and Vanilla Rye?

Not saying it doesn't get done. Just saying that it doesn't get done more than it does. That's all.

Prop will trade high when it first comes out so maybe 1+:1 or 2:1. as far as vanilla though, I have no idea. It's a toss up really. It will be distro'd so it has that "against" it but it is also vanilla rye, so people will be in high demand for it. I'm guessing probably close to 3:1 (if it comes in bombers). But who knows. trade values are volatile. DB huna could escalate in trade value within the next month and the number of BC bottles needed could increase 1.5 times. Who knows.

The value of DB huna is only going to continue to go up.
It's going to be in he top 10 for a while (not that I care but a lot of folks do) and people are going to keep opening bottles.
I'd actually be curious how many unopened bottles are still out there.

My friend @yeedog and I each got 2 through the club, and after this weekend, our combined number left will be 1, so yeah, they're disappearing. I'd imagine "value" is only going to go up.
