Port City, Atlas (alexandria-caryle or dc-navy yard), Aslin on the alex side (I'm not a personal fan of aslin but a lot of people are). DC... other half (NYC brewery but if you haven't had them go for it), Lost Generation, DC Brau. ChurchKey is a world class beer bar which is often highly recommended. Mieza in alexandria if you're into funk and sours. I can make other suggestions outside the beltway. Depends on your activity schedule.

Mieza is a solid new blendery and brewery in Alexandria. I would check that out. In DC, Sovereign, Shelter, and Churchkey are excellent beer bars. Lost Generation and Bluejacket are solid breweries. Other Half is, of course, good, but it is available in a number of other states. Aslin in Alexandria is good, but varies in quality, and the beer is not for everyone.
