Any places near Downtown were I can pick up cans of DC Brau On the Wings? Is it even out right now? I heard you can stop by the brewery during the week to pick up cans, true? I'm at the Four Points Sheraton on K St. NW. Thank you!
In a three day window, consider it "brewery only".... which is not easily accessible by public transportation. BM me if that's an issue. Assuming the 03/05 batch is still there, I'd be happy to "pick it up for me bro" or $4$ swap on some out of town beers. It's a great beer.
I'm headed out tomorrow for two days. I was looking for info on DC Brau's site about hours but didn't find what I was looking for. I am willing to cab it over to the brewery, but will it be open tomorrow evening or Monday evening?
They're open on saturdays only for sales usually(12-4pm)...(go to the "visiting the brewery" page). But i've picked up stuff during the week. Unfortunately they're out of OTWOA right now(was going to pick some up today but when I called they said they were out)...She said they should have some by next weekend, but I'm not sure when they'll be ready. If either of you guys can't pick it up I'd be happy to do a trade for you since I'll be going next weekend if Prince can't do it for you guys.
You may have some difficulty finding it around town. They just recently started shipping (a case or two) to stores in the DC area and it sells out almost immediately. I'm not sure if they'll be making more/shipping more to stores with this up coming batch though.
Damn. That's a bummer. Oh well. Does it make its way to taps around town? When I get in this afternoon, I'm planning to do some bar- and brewery-hopping.
It has been at Rustico, Churchkey, Meridian Pint, and a few other places, check the tap lists at those places to see if it's on tap.
I am going to try to go to the brewery Saturday at 12. Is it usually a shit show or mellow? I don't have all day to spend there... Thanks for the info!
The crowding has never been an issue for me, even if there is a long line, it goes pretty fast. I think the longest I've had to wait at a Wings release was about 15 minutes. I wouldn't go there unless you have a car though. A cab will be really expensive to get out there, it is on the outskirts of NE DC and usually there's a lot of traffic on New York Ave to get out that way. Not accessible by public transportation.
Have car, will travel. It is about five miles from the hotel, but my wife is going to get mad if I'm gone too long buying beer.
Know that when you get to the strip mall DC Brau is in, it is actually back behind the building and there is parking back there. Drive through the center driveway between the two bldgs and it will be back there.
