So...DC Beer Week starts on Sunday. What events are you planning/hoping to attend?

    www.dcbeerweek.net

I have tickets for the Brew Line bus tour on Sunday (starting at DC Brau)...but am growing nervous as there has been zero communication from them since we signed up. And, this isn't listed on the official site as an event. I also don't yet believe that Bluejacket will be open. Guess we'll see...

Still working through the calendar, but definitely planning to visit the Maine event at Meridian Pint on Wednesday 8/14.

Bluejacket is most definitely not open. I know they have that BBQ event the following Sunday, but the beers they are serving are all collaboration batches brewed off site. Their tanks are still empty.

I'm doing the Perrenial dinner at Birch & Barley on Monday.. Pretty expensive at $60/each, but it should be awesome, especially when it all is washed down with BA Abraxas (2 helpings worth, as I'm taking my girlfriend's

Tuesday, Maine Beer Company at Churchkey

Wednesday nothing impresses me too much.

Thursday, Bell's event at CK, including BA Batch 9000! Then over to Black Squirrel for the New Belgium sours workshop.

Tuesday might be Meridian Pint's sour event too. Might check that out on the way home.

I'm looking forward to both the Bell's event and the Quebec beer event. So many kegs of Dieu du Ciel were kicking around at Churchkey on Saturday night.

I'm doing the same on Monday (my fiancé doesn't want her BA Abraxas, so that's all for me!) - not sure what else I'm going to do yet, but I can't imagine I'd miss the Bell's event either!

Not trying to be an ass, but were we supposed to hear anything more regarding the Brew Line tour? My tickets are starting at Blue Jacket..

I'll be at the Perennial dinner as well. If I can swing Thursday for a pour of BA Batch 9000 as well, it will be a gooood week.

We finally got an email yesterday from Stephen at Washington City Paper with more details. Atlas has been dropped, so there are now only 6 breweries. Everything else seems to be a go - be at your starting brewery at 10.

The email(s) are very confusing! It says Blue Jacket - new starting point is DC Brau. But then the second one says to go to the brewery that your ticket is for (Blue Jacket).

    Anyone know for sure?

That is odd. Wonder if BlueJacket has dropped out too and they just haven't told us? BlueJacket and Atlas early access was a big part of why I signed up for this.

I would just email Stephen at City Paper and ask - he responded to my questions very quickly earlier. I was confused by the addition of Metro Center as a starting point - wasn't given that option when I signed up! Have to take a taxi or bike to DC Brau, so Metro would've been much easier...

Correction! It was Atlas (only), you were right. For some reason, I totally read the email incorrectly.

Edit: Maybe you can still start at Metro Center? I don't see why it'd be a problem, but maybe I'm missing something..

I emailed him and asked that. Was told that the Metro buses were completely full, so no room to shuffle anyone at this point. Ah, well. Once we get to DC Brau, I'm sure it'll be a good time!

I'm with you guys, I e-mailed him after getting that initial e-mail. I think I was the reason he sent out that updated e-mail about where to meet. I didn't know metro center was an option or else I would of used it. I'm starting at BlueJacket too with my buddy so we're gonna have to take a taxi there and back as we're in Clarendon. I thought it'd be fun to start/stop there since they're all the buzz. I read BlueJacket and MadFox will have food by their chefs and other places will have food trucks.

I also asked him if we're gonna get a bag to store any SWAG/etc that we get at the breweries and he said no, so I'll be wearing a bright green fanny pack. Come say hi if you see me.

Hadn't even considered swag. Do you think for the growler that is supposed to be included we could bring an empty one to have them fill? Appreciate a free growler, but really just don't have room for another one at home.

I'm hoping that we can somehow finagle a drop off at Metro Center, instead of having to taxi home from DC Brau.

Initially, I thought food samples were included as well, but I'm not seeing anything indicating that. I'm guessing it's a cash deal for the food trucks and whatnot..

I can't tell if it's a fill or an empty growler, honestly. It just says, "take home a commemorative DC Beer Week growler." Hm..

I'm assuming it's filled with da beer.

"and take home a growler of DC Beer Week's special collaboration beer."
