What are the best bottle shops in the area with the ability to create your own sixer? I love perfect pour as you have the ability to create your own sixer from anything on the shelf. Unfortunately it's pretty far away from me. I know a couple Whole Foods do it, but the options are very limited. Does anyone know of any others?

Do you just mean a place that sells single bottles or are you looking for somewhere with a set price for a limited selection of create your own six pack beers? The latter is usually only done in grocery stores.

Edit: it sounds like you're looking for bottle shops that sell singles. Lots of places do that and you don't actually have to buy in multiples of 6.

I'm looking for something similar to Perfect Pour where you grab an empty sixer and literally grab beers out of other sixers or rip a can of a sixer to create your own sixer. So in essence yes, what stores have the largest availability of singles? For example I would like to try Bells Hopsolution but don't wanna spend $20 on a sixer if I don't end up liking it..

The Harris Teeter in Noma does that. They have a shelf of singles near the front (but not the entrance) of the store, close to the cold wine and bombers. You can mix a six with a lot of local selections.

You might want to try Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits. Don't know how easy it is for you to get there, but nearly everything they have out can be bought by individual bottles. I haven't been in awhile so don't know how their prices are.

This is a major failing in DC generally. Glens in Dupont used to have more, but most of their 12 or 16 oz singles are imperial-strength beers these days, and only a handful at any one time.

Gallagher & Graham on U St has a wall of singles (variable quality depending on when they got shipments in, though) for a flat $12 per sixer, which can be a good deal depending on what's on the shelf. Must buy 6 beers though, as I think their license requires it.

Whole Foods FB and Tenleytown have single bottles, and you don't actually need to buy 6. The WF FB beer guys will sometimes break up a sixer and mark the bottles/cans individually if you ask nicely.

Last time I was at tenleytown the prices were bizarre for singles, Double Duckpin was selling for $15/6pk - or $4 per single can, which equates to $24 per 6pk! I expect some markup for singles but 60% is absurd. Some Evil Twin cans were surprisingly reasonable however.

Total Wine has a lot of singles and I would imagine they would split up a sixer if you asked. Their pricing on singles sucks.

Awesome, Chevy Chase Liquors isn't far from me at all, thanks!

I'll definitely have to check out G&G. WF FB and Tenley were the only two I knew about until I started this thread, thanks for the feedback!

Total Wine's are awesome, unfortunately there are all pretty far outside of the city limits and not the most convenient place for me to get too

McLean should be pretty close in. Ballston is coming.
