This Urban Chestnut (new arrival in DC) Zwickel is pretty nice. If you're looking for a summer lager to drink...

Are they distributing here or was that a one time drop? I'm from St. Louis originally and love that beer.

Think I heard them say at CBC (where I bought it) that they are now distributing here, which is good news.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm actually driving up to Indiana next weekend and will stop by Three Floyds. If anyone wants anything, send me a DM.

Urban Chestnut was a special drop to CBC. Great beers! To my knowledge, they are not being distributed in DC. Get them while you can!

The dudes who run Shawan are great. My main gripe is that they seem to have more stuff sitting on the shelf these days and less up to date beermenus. Drink is nice for keeping a more up to date beermenus. I like knowing that if I'm looking for something specific I can check to see if they'll have it. They also get a few things that I don't see in many other places around like Adroit, some Stillwater stuff, Omnipollo, and Against the Grain.

Any Baltimore peeps hit Manor Hill Saturday? Curious how the cans of Dust Up and Pineapple Malt Shop are?

Not pointing fingers as I'd certainly love to know about these beers as well, but isnt this the kind of discourse that got the last iteration of this thread shut down? I'll be the first to raise my hand for being guilty of taking it off course. Just trying to understand what the mods classify as in bounds.

I think it was more the trolling and name calling in the previous thread moreso than the off topic beer banter.

Hoppy. It has a bitterness to it that most NE style IPA's don't. The nose on it is awesome as well.

Thinking of hitting the Burley Oak release Saturday (driving down from Rehoboth). I've been there before but not for a release. Looks like they start can sales at 11am. Any idea what time is good to be there? Line bottle share? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Since the weather looks nice, and peeps will be at the beach, I would say the line's gonna start in the 8-830 range. If you get there before 11, you are just about guaranteed beer. They do allotments based on the line (guesstimate) at 1050. The line share is just inside the patio area, so maybe the first 40 people or so. Otherwise you can't drink out the fenced area per their liquor license.

tldr, you show up at 945, you're getting beer, but not drinking in line...

If it's not DC or DC suburb related then it should probably go somewhere else, imo anyway. For example, Burley Oak is like 2.5 hours from DC.

Good luck with traffic both ways. It's turnover day and 4th of July weekend. On Saturday Revelation Brewery in Rehoboth is having their first anniversary party and releasing a bbl Russian Imperial Stout.

I was there for their last can release, which was also the same day as their sour fest. I strolled in around 4:30pm and was able to purchase all 3 cans released and 3/4 of the sour bottles. I would say you're fine showing up after the line dies down, but who knows.

Last I checked this is a DC/MD/NoVA Beer Update thread, not just DC...

I went early afternoon last Saturday with my GF and her parents (who are in their early 70's). I got a flight of all the beers, a wit, a watermelon wit (same base beer as the wit just with watermelon in it), a session ipa, an ipa (which was a colaboration with ocelot(?)), and a brown. (I think I got that all right but may be off a little.

Its a nice place with a lot of seating. The beers were all pretty good, and have potential. I think they need a few months to get everything dialed in, in terms of recipes, what to brew, running the tap room, etc. No complaints, but just could tell they were new.

Based on your question I would say they are closer to Ocelot than Mustang Sally in terms of what they had on tap last weekend. Could change depending on what they are selling. I guess the owner and one other guy used to work at beltway brewing if that give you any other insight.
