My take on CBS -- waste of $30. It was thin, all coffee, no bourbon or maple syrup. Doesn't live up to even a small percentage of expectations. Sigh.

Was there a little earlier today and didn't see GBS of any sort, even regular.
They do have quite a bit of reg BCBS left, and also had two BA Ten Fidys.

So TRUE. finally a,voice of reason. I dont like to hate but I feel I pissed off all my beer friends who thought it was da shit when it was just barely above shit. easily most overrated beer in quite some time. I think it was a product of nostalgia. doesnt taste like anything. founders did an awful job this year with their kbs and now, cbs. I think they mass produced way too much and in tje process lost their touch. kbs and cbs were bettr. I feel so terrible because I love Founders but this was really bad. its a boring beer with a slight sweetness at the end. didnt taste like much or had mucj complexity

Apologies for the lack of clarity - I asked for it and recieved a bottle. I asked if they had more but was told 1 pp. Recommend calling them and possibly the one in Fairfax.

Founders rocks. You’re crazy. Got at Wegmans fairfax today by the way. 1 less bottle is avail as some douche dropped a bottle on his way out. I almost pushed him out of the way. The aroma was so good. Didn’t have 2017 yet but had at the brewery about 2 years ago and it was amazing.

I thought KBS was great this year, as always, but CBS wasn't significantly better/different.

I loved KBS this year. Incredibly balanced right out of the gate, and probably my favorite vintage in recent memory. I had another bottle a few nights ago, and the coffee had definitely started to fade. I'll probably try to polish off the rest of my stash before the new year.

I'm drinking CBS right now, and I would say it's very different. Sure, it's got abundant coffee, chocolate, and vanilla in the mix, just like KBS, but the maple syrup sweetness is dominant at all temperatures I've experienced. It's damn tasty, but, as a coffee junkie, I think KBS is more my cup o' tea.

Interesting, I thought they were incredibly different and liked KBS a lot more. CBS was just so sweet this time around, something I really don’t remember about this beer from past experiences. I’ve got another bottle, so if someon who didn’t get get one is interested, hit me up and maybe we can work something out.

Just as Vinnie Cilurzo coined “lupulin threshold shift” there should be something similar in the vein of barrel aged stouts. People seem so attuned to the adjunct stouts that they’re not enjoying CBS. While this is technically an adjunct stout it’s one with barrel character first and foremost and I think they did an awesome job.
Looking forward to having it on tap this week.

For anyone looking to really geek out this podcast on Founders barrel program is pretty cool and impressive when you hear what they’re doing.
