DC/MD/NoVA Beer Updates (2018)

Odd Provisions has a few Bourbon Paradise, Vanilla Noir and Pirate Noir on the shelf. Also BA Ten Fiddy and a bunch of other goodies.

Anyone been up to Black Flag Brewing recently? I had their last hazy IPA Murker She Wrote and it was awesome. Wanted to check out this new one, Friends with Benefits.

 

Much like a lot of their offerings, it was OK. I do agree that MSW was by far the best that they've put out.

FWIW I consider them to be the Mendoza Line of breweries, just putting out mediocre beer after mediocre beer...nothing is ever offensive, just not worth seeking out.

 

Any Sucaba sightings in Arlington?

 

Anybody see the Sam Adams New England IPA?
I can't seem to get the beer finder on the website to work.

Picked up a bottle at K-1 today; Arrowine supposed to get it today as well.

 

It probably hasn't hit our area yet. It just showed up at a couple bars in VA, but that's about it.

New Belgium's Voodoo Juicy Haze is actually pretty solid. I've been drinking those all week, and it's like $10.99 for a 6'er.

 

Good to know. I'll pick up a six pack of Juicy Haze to try. I'm always looking for good beers that don't require a line. Hazy Little Thing is decent as well at the same price point.

I'm not a SN IPA guy at all, but I really enjoyed Hazy Little Thing. At $9/sixer it's hard to beat.

Is Sucaba still around or sold out now everywhere? Was slow to the table here on this one

 

I saw it at Calvert Woodley a week ago and fairly certain I saw it at CBC last night. I would call both spots before going though.

 

There were 3 Sucaba today at Calvert Woodley around noon.

 

Saw succaba at magruders in Chevy chase

 

I was at Rodmans today and picked up a 4 pack of Crooked Run Heart & Soul IPA. I haven't had their beers before but this one is a tasty 6.5%er.

 

Saw a bunch at WF H St last night

 

Has this year's Uncle Jacob's Stout hit DC yet?

 

Saw several bottles in CBC last Friday. Pretty confident it was this year’s but not positive.

 

I was there last week and they were all 2017, but I'll call again.

 

Any Sucuba sightings in MD? FW Propritor's beers this year have been much more easy to find since they switched to the small bottles (albiet, $ per oz isn't that good). Good move by FW.
