Man, saw $22 Alewerks Bitter Valentine four-packs and $20 Port City Colossal 7 six-packs tonight. Some of our locals are really pushing it with the prices.

Saw some of this year's at Canton Crossing Baltimore if you felt like traveling. Should be in the rest of MD as well...

Stopped in this weekend and they had it back in stock, it will apparently be a semi-regular thing for as long as ski season lasts (at least that's the implication I got). $12 a pop.

Anyone know if Prairie Pirate Bomb made it to Baltimore? Maybe I missed it...

Couple standouts like fremont and cw but for me kind of unimpressive for the pricepoint.

Hopefully this will draw some brewery tap takeovers ala 2016. Would love to see a Central Waters event.

I had a bottle of the Pirate Noir at Max’s yesterday in Baltimore. I forget the price. They had a couple of the variations.

yeah bombvariants, noir variants, and very small amounts of bourbon paradise made it to baltimore last week. Some was out on the shelves at wine source as of this weekend but imagine thats gone now. other stores might still have some though

I always loved the guy on here who said Snallygaster was like going to Churchkey, but even more expensive.

Savor... isn't that much like going to Churchkey or Snallygaster, other than it's even more expensive.

I passed on the BV when it was $9.99/22oz, and now when it's a $21.99 4pk, and the $7.99 singles I saw. That beer is pretty hit or miss and you can get Aslin for less than that so that's gonna be a hard 'no' from me, dawg.

I like PC, especially their prices but I'm also going to pass on a $20 scotch ale that's no BA'd. They usually don't make much of the Colossal beers and it's way outside their usual wheelhouse so I would argue $20/6pk (which is the same as a $13 4pk), for a specialty beer, isn't nearly as egregious.

Although depending on how much you eat and drink at Snallygaster, maybe not that much more -- this past year, lots of beers cost $7-8 or more.

Some nice beers, Rusty Nail, Madagascar, Experimental Abraxas?....but other than those it’s a pass for me. At the same time, as others have mentioned, I would be interested in tap takeovers from those breweries.

Are they receiving shipments of it, or are they bringing in back from VT themselves? $12 a can is laughable.

I think they are just categorizing Abraxas as an 'experimental beer' as opposed to a 'pastry stout'

Probably from retail. It's DC: if you can get it, you can serve it.
Eh, the mark up over retail doesn't seem too egregious; it's lower than I would have expected (over $1/oz). It's not hard to pay $6-7 for a 12 oz can of something ordinary like DCBrau in a bar around here, and that's from distributor prices.

What was the place that made you buy tickets for their cans of Heady a few years back? It was in Adams Morgan I think. They were doing some "Beers of Vermont" thing and for the "privilege" of a can you had to by a $35 or $40 ticket that also included some small sample pours of other beers from growlers. I remember Hill Farmstead calling them out on that.

Churchkey got their hands on some even before that, but I think they had the sense just to sell the cans straight up.

Nice - where did you see this? Were the specific beers included in it?
