Crooked Run does milkshake IPAs, can't say if they are good or not though.

 

Are you looking specifically for milkshake IPAs or just generally hazy/NEIPAs? I know some people use the interchangeably, and if that's the case here you might as well swing through Ocelot by Dulles as well.

 

All of Crooked Run's IPA's taste off to me. Maybe they have improved over the last couple months, but I think their IPA's are horrible. They have this super green and play dough taste to me.

Their pilsner, Coast, is awesome though.

 

can check out crooked run, they sometimes have some. the leesburg location would be closer to aldie but has a smaller tap list. Old Ox is opening in Middleburg this weekend and they might have something as well.

if you make it up to leesburg there are a handful of other breweries (Black Hoof, Black Walnut, BikeTrale, McDowell Brew Kitchen) and some decent bars all within a few blocks of each other.

 

Wanted to let everyone here know that The Bruery Store at Union Market is hosting a pop-up can sale with Triple Crossing today, starting at 11 am. Brands will include:

Milkshake. Wife is also big on hazy IPAs but I'm specifically looking for milkshakes. Went to ocelot last time we visited. It was fantastic.

 

Man from Wisconsin MUST have lactose in his IPAs.

 

I mean, gosh, my initial post was last week. I can't believe it took this long to get this response.

 

PSA - Downtown Crown is currently doing an Other Half can sale that was announced a couple hours ago on the DTC IG account. If my fridge wasn't currently full of triple crossing I'd head up there but c'est la vie.

 

Aslin is releasing (what I assume is) a 'milkshake IPA' today, contains milk sugar anyway. Not sure when you will be in the area but maybe you could have someone in your family pick up a 4 pack for you cause I'm guessing it won't be around more than a couple days.

 

Does anybody know why Craft Beer Cellar refuses to carry Backwoods Bastard?

 

My guess would be because it is widely available.

But, it’s their lost, as it is a great beer!

 

Try again. They just had a Founders tasting there yesterday with all their common beers. Someone asked about Backwoods Bastard and the owner said she refused to carry it but I didn't catch why. The Founders rep said too bad because it's a good seller.

 

refused to sell it sounds like an objection to the name, but that's pure speculation. It's not like they don't sell similar style beers, that beer has a history of issues, and obviously they're ok with Founders as a business. Not sure what's left.

 

Or you could just ask them why

 

Someone asked the last time i was in the store. I couldn't hear the answer. Not sure when i'll be back in he store again to ask...was hoping someone else here had asked...oh well.

 

DTC still has cases of DDH Mylar Daydream, DDH Double Simcoe Daydream & DDH Ain't Nothing Nice left. With this weekly drops of OH beers in the area, no reason for any of that Aslin swill.
