Posted in The Veil thread but if you don't get the update notifications.... Downtown Crown Wine and Beer in Gaithersburg getting a drop today.
    _________________________________________________________________________

[IMG] Arriving Thursday 1/6, early afternoon [IMG]
[IMG] Order via our web store and utilize our contactless curbside pickup! We'll hold orders for up to a week! We're one of only a select few retail partners for The Veil and the only in MD. These drops come our way only a handful of times per year!
    www.downtowncrownwinestore.com

[IMG] Quantities are limited on the following:

-'Eternal Shredder³' DIPA (8.5% ABV) "The bigger sibling of our house IPA, Master Shredder that we blast with our triple dry-hop treatment. Packed with hoppy goodness of tangerine, grapefruit, bright orange peel."

-'IdontwanttoBU⁴' IPA (6.9% ABV) "The quadruple dry-hopped version of our Mosaic and Citra 0 IBU IPA. Blasted with concentrated hop flavors of mango and honey sweetness."

-'We We Ded Ded' Triple IPA (11.0% ABV) "The DDH version of our 100% Citra hopped Triple IPA. Delicious impressions of smooth apricot, mango, passion fruit, and juicy melon."

-'greenbugatti' TIPA (11.0% ABV) "Luxuriously hopped Simcoe and Galaxy TIPA. Hop notes of piney juiciness, melon, and orchard fruit."

-'whiteferrari' DIPA (8.0% ABV) "whiteferrari is a beer that has been a long time in the making. We've been experimenting with different malt and hop combinations through other recipes, trying to find what we believe is the best of both worlds rolled into one DIPA. Clocking in at 8%, this luxuriously soft DIPA is hopped intensely with 50/50 Citra and Galaxy(and a ton of it!). We used the freshest crop available of each hop to give this DIPA the most expressive hop character possible."

-'Broz Night Out: Enhanced' DIPA (9.0% ABV) "Triple Dry-Hopped DIPA brewed entirely w/ Citra hops and treated with our proprietary enhancing techniques. Soft and saturated w/ hop flavors of passion fruit, fleshy pineapple, gooseberry, lemon, grape."

-'Never Heardofit³: Xtreme' Triple Blueberry Gose (7.0% ABV) "This one is blasted with impressions of liquid blueberry pie filling to the XTREME."

-'Peachee Rings Gummee' Berliner Weiss (6.0% ABV) "Conditioned with a ton of peach purée and piles of marshmallows. Fuzzy peach and creamsicle with a nice confectionary finish."

-'Tefnut: Apricot Passion Fruit' Cosmic Imperial Gose (10.0% ABV) in collaboration with @omnipollo. "Each iteration will feature a different fruit treatment. We put our heads together with @omnipollo to reimagine what a fruit beer can be via new processes and fruit volumes. Thick and frothy notes of apricot/peach skin, juicy white nectarine, dried apricot, and peach rings."

-'Luxurious Luxury Vol. 3' Imperial Sour Ale (9.0% ABV) "Our version of a collaboration beer with @eviltwinNYC that was originally brewed in New York. It’s another overindulged Imperial Berliner Gose brewed with lots of wheat, white truffle salt, and marshmallow, plus loads of blackberry and passion fruit purée. Decadent flavors of fruit pastries and mixed berry desserts."

-'Klean Belgiez' Belgian Quad (8.5% ABV) "Traditional Belgian Quad with Virginia Wild Flower Honey."

-'Numb' Lager (4.4% ABV) "Brewed with Pilsner malt and a decent amount of malted wheat, fermented with one of our favorite lager strains and hopped with 3x different types of German hops. Effervescent, bright, floral, and just an absolute crusher."

-'Larry' Imperial Stout (12.0% ABV) "Conditioned on lots of banana chunks and Vermont maple syrup. Scratch the bananas on the label for the full experience. Dark chocolate covered banana, Dr. Pepper Cherry, and banana bread with caramel on top."

-'Haunter' American Stout (5.0% ABV) "A great crusher pub-style Stout with way more drinkability compared to our Imperial Stout offerings."

-'Energy' IPA (6.0% ABV) "A brand new IPA with a large percentage of raw wheat, Nelson, Idaho 7, and Enigma. An easy drinking IPA with exotic tropical fruit flavors."

-'Swallow The Earth' DIPA (8.0% ABV) "A brand new DIPA with oats and wheat crushed with Nelson, Galaxy, El Dorado, Enigma, and Mosaic Cryo. This one is blasting out of the glass with hoppy notes of ripe papaya, drippy summertime fruit bowls."

-'Try Me' DIPA (8.0% ABV) "Brewed with malted and flaked oats then hopped with Mosaic, Citra, Motueka and a new hop product called Cryo Pop. Awesome notes of vanilla cotton candy and orange swirl candies."

Coming soon! Max's Annual Belgian Fest, Feb 18-20. Hoping Covid doesn't wipe it out. Lineup should be available soon. There has always been some unique offerings as well as a Belgian food menu to pair things up with.

If you are familiar with Pariah Brewing out in San Diego, the good news is you won't have to travel that far to try their offerings; they opened a facility in Baltimore City. It is in the former Union Craft location just off Union Ave. Their soft opening was this weekend and the initial reports are very positive..

Please do - I picked them up in NC over the summer (not at the brewery). I don't recall can dates or even if they had dates. Looking the two I had up on untapped were free the soul and new jack. When I say I wasn't impressed, I mean they were ok, not bad but nothing notable. If you think these others are bangers, I will give them a go.

NA has been something I’ve enjoyed as of late. I’ve had 5 of their IPAs (Neon God, The Vapors, Free the Soul, Ba’al, and Hooked up in Stitches). Hooked up in Stiches really stood out to me. I really like them and they aren’t overly priced. I was in NC last week and was able to enjoy some super fresh cans. Solid pick for a local brewery to me.

Downtown Crown has a ton of Other Half and Burial beers.

    It’s a shame, since I’m going on a business trip tomorrow. :slight_frown: :slight_frown: :slight_frown:

Not seeing any date stamps on my Ghost in the Laboratory cans. Is there any earthy way to tell if these are from Equilibrium's 1/19 release or their follow-on 1/28 release? I'm guessing the answer is "no" but would appreciate if anyone has insight they could share.

I picked up Old Nation's Boss Tweed and DDH M-43. The Boss Tweed is good but unremarkable, but the M-43 is stellar. Boss Tweed was about a week old and M-43 about 3 weeks old when I got them a couple of days ago.

Thanks! I've had the BA version (thank you, Snallygaster!), and, though I was skeptical before I tasted it, it genuinely lived up to its rating. The mouthfeel particularly struck me as superlatively oily. If the stuff on tap at WF drank like regular, it's almost certainly the non-BA version. Probably just a mix-up by whoever runs their Untappd menu.
