DC/MD/NoVA Beer Updates (2022)

I just saw that Rocket Frog Brewing in Sterling is closing this Sunday 12/11. May have to stop by for a goodbye beer this weekend.

 

That sucks but I'm guessing they won't be the only one closing in the next year or so.

 

So you're saying we can pick and choose which brewery farewells we wish to attend.

 

Skipping Rock closing up as well (announced yesterday). With Shenandoah Valley closing up a few months ago, Staunton VA will just have Redbeard and Queen City left.

Never heard of the place before, but The Runway supposedly has Heady and Focal available, per their online ordering page.

Got a newsletter email about Dominion Wine and Beer having a burst pipe causing them to temporarily close for at least the start of this week to assess damage. They seem to be hoping to maybe have some form of service available in a few days.

 

It's the Runaway, same owner as Slash Run, where cans have also been seen.

 

Yeah, those pictures looked pretty bad. Hoping they get back soon.

 

I forget if it’s the owner or the GM that has family in Vermont, but they bring back an Alchemist stash a few times a year (watch Instagram).

 

went there for lunch the other day and they had cans of Skadoosh and Rapture. I got Rapture which was excellent. The place itself has a great lunch deal and excellent food as well

 

Their online store started accepting orders again today, and I placed one as soon as I noticed. I don't think they're fulfilling yet, as I haven't received a "ready for pick-up" message despite several hours' passage, but it's not like I have any shortage of beer that's going to leave me going thirsty. Help these guys get back on their feet!

 

My girlfriend read from a Facebook post that they were opening tomorrow from 10-10 tomorrow and hoped to get to go food and tents operating within a week or two.
