Unfortunate state of affairs all around. Sacrificing QC for the bottom line.

I rarely if ever buy IPAs at Total Wine for this reason

Can prices generally range from $5 to $6.25 each on their website ordering page.

Still kinda pricy but at least you could go by the brewery and buy a bunch of singles to mule home to share with friends. I have been to 4-5 breweries in PA the last few months and all of them sold single cans. Seems like most MD breweries are 4 pack / same beer only with a few rare exceptions.

Definitely pricy. Sadly, par for the course in the craft beer world.

This brings up a question I've had in back of my mind on Other Half DC...are the IPA's all brewed there? Or is it a hodgepodge of some older stuff from Brooklyn, some brewed there, etc? Their canned options are almost too much, that typically scares me when I go places. I wouldn't even hit Other Half DC if there were more brewery options in town, but at least they're right by the National Arboretum so I can justify the visit. My trip is next week, I'll dig in on social media to try to determine what's fresh but any local insight would be appreciated.

They are labeled in the fridge BK or DC for which place they were brewed. I've had dates on my cans but others have mentioned no dates so might want to double check IG or just ask one of the super friendly staff what's freshest.

Friend was in town Friday and decided to have a get-together at....Aslin on 14th St. I wanted to see him and the weather was nice so why not. I know by now what to expect from their beer.

This is what Dunley Place looks like now in case you are wondering lol

It wasn't bad. But that used to be one of their haziest, juiciest offerings and it wasn't that at all.

Don't worry I wasn't the drunk guy in the corner mumbling about Richard or Sunset Park Drive

About 2 years ago I was at the OH location in the North finger Lakes (near Rochester), and talked to one of the managers there about the OH locations. I forget the exact % he quoted but he said the DC location is doing the majority of the production now (like 60%,? Brooklyn a smaller percent like 20-30% and Rochester <10%.

correction…Sapwood sells single cans to-go out of their taproom fridge, So at least 1 MD brewery is smart about offering this option to consumers. I was passing through on way back from eastern shore and bought 4 cans (Pastry Stout, Belgian Tripel, West Coast and a NEIPA). They make amazing beers, IMO. Was $25 but I’d rather have that kinda variety vs $21 for the same 4 beers.

Way late on reporting back, but anyone reading this and traveling to DC/Logan Circle should know that Aslin is a cool hangout regardless of the mid beer. Get an iced coffee if you're that picky and enjoy the vibes, dogs, and kind folks. That said, if we're here to talk beer (which we are), 100% get what y'all are saying about the quality. Churchkey is the gospel if you need a good pour in that neighborhood. Other Half DC is also a sweet patio space with shade, don't sleep on bringing carry-out lunch from Ivy City Smokehouse while you're there. Thanks again to everyone for the recs.

Yeah, I was visiting Baltimore last weekend and was going to drop I on them again, before I found out. They were one of the better breweries in the Eastern part of the USA, so it was quite a shock to me!
