DC/MD/NoVA Beer Updates (2025)

Snallygaster started revealing the beer list this morning via IG (and possibly other avenues). It looks like they've launched a verified venue on Untappd with a sortable tap list as well.

Hawkley posted on socials yesterday they plan to open in January so I assume Juicy will be closing in December or January prior to Hawkley opening in the same space....

Definitely worth highlighting this promising paragraph in the article:

"Voodoo Brewing Company, a Pennsylvania-based brewer, also plans to set up shop in Herndon as its first foray into the D.C. region. A full-service restaurant is expected to open “by the end of this year” at the Makers Rise apartment building (2311 Dulles Station Blvd) near the Innovation Center Metro station."

The news about Ornery opening a second location planning to open this month was a good tidbit as well though I've never visited them or tried their beers.

 

First I've about about them and I cannot find any other information, social media, etc but apparently Stockyard Brewery in Lovettsville, Va had a soft opening over the weekend.

 

Yeah they have a website but no info provided at all. Nothing from their Facebook link either. If anyone knows more about times/dates they are open please share.

 

First time skipping the festival but decided to head south today to pickup the scraps. Besides Churchkey and Shelter, any other good "Snally Sightings" places to check out? I'm blanking on two NOVA beer bars (I think they're each one word names?) that I'd like to see their untappd before going on a wild goose chase today. Dominion looks to have some solid offerings as well.

Anyone know if BA Abraxas is still around?

Rustico is probably one of the NOVA spots you're thinking of, and BA Abraxas is still on the menu there.

 

I was there Friday. It's on the bottle menu. $110.

 

Only $55 if you get it to go. I very gladly brought home two bottles.

 

So the decision is a round trip flight to Florida or drink a bottle of beer???? I think I’ll go to Florida.

 

Fidens cans on Churchkey's website, and somehow nothing's sold out after 35 minutes.

 

It's not like they sent their best stuff...

 

Olney Ale House Set to Reopen!

Looks like their Google Maps listing was recently updated to list an official opening of this Fri. (Oct 17th). https://maps.app.goo.gl/mQiWHHGt8EnGpQ6o9

Can anyone recommend a good store to buy singles in Richmond?

 

The Answer does have some stout singles (at least the last time I was there) and also have Juissse Crowlers…

ps-I will defer to the locals as I have never look for singles when I travel to Richmond.
