For the MD BAs: Outside of Pinehurst and Total Wine (not sure I want to deal with that parking lot), any other locations in the Towson/ Baltimore County area?

There was still plenty of the Regular and Barleywine around the city last year after Black Friday. Only the Coffee and the Vanilla Rye sold out immediately.

Gilly's update: bottles and draft will be available starting at noon on Monday. Two bottle limit per person. Based on experience, I think it is safe to say that draft will only be available for consumption on premises. According to their update, there will only be two other stores in Mo Co that will have this for sale.

I wonder if only 3 stores in Moco are getting allotments this year because other stores sold theirs early last year and had their allotments revoked. Seems like a good call on Gillys part to disregard GI's black friday plan...

*I have no idea if GI actually enforces penalties for selling Bourbon County before black friday.

Interesting idea, but I really hope the answer is "no". I don't often shop at Gilly's because I can drive further and stock up for far cheaper. Of course, I can't even imagine the rent and property taxes for their location, so it's no surprise the prices are what they are. Still, it's all cool people there and a fun place to hang. The owners are real savvy and I just have to believe they would be aware of any such punishments and would do nothing to inflict that same pain on themselves.

Did they mention what variants they will have? With it being 2 bottles/person I'm guessing that means they'll only have regular + BW.

I did not see a definite indication, but it honestly seemed like they'd just have the regular and not even the BW. I'd seriously doubt variants though I by no means know this for sure.

It sounds like MD won't be getting the shaft this year. Was told today, by the beer guy at my local shop, that Howard County is definitely getting Coffee, Regal Rye, and Rare. Of course this is still rumor, at this point, but he seemed sure he was getting a case of Rare.

I hear ya and feel the same way. This dude was pretty confident though. It was already a fact as far as he was concerned.

What is the price of a bottle of Rare? $60? $80? Sounds like any Marylander stupid enough to pay that much for a beer (to AB-Inbev no less) is indeed getting the shaft.

Interesting....I heard pretty much the opposite. No rare or coffee bottles, with very minimal regal bottles. Guess we will see what happens. Also have to assume this was PP where the information came from in hoco.

Ha, yeah. I think all we know, at this point, is that nobody knows anything until the trucks pull up.

Church Key in DC, not far from the White House is having a big Black Friday BCBS event.

In Falls Church, hit up Dominion Beer and Wine, talk to those guys they know their shit and will tell you which IPAs are local etc. They also have a growler station, if they have any Ocelot IPAs for growlers get them.

One of the best bottle shops in the entire MD/DC/VA area is in Falls Church - Dominion Wine & Beer. They also have 12 taps for growler fills. They always have good IPA's on. They will probably have an Ocelot beer on, which is the best brewery in the area regarding IPA's.

For BCBS, I'd try and hit up a Total Wine in the area (either McLean or Alexandria). They will most likely get the most BCBS. A place like Dominion will sell out of that within 30 minutes or so.

I am OK with showing up at opening and seeing what I get but I am not a camper! Dominion is only 5 min from my aunts house so I will be there at opening I guess! Will dominion be doing black Friday release? I will make sure I have a few growlers if this ocelot is as good as everyone is boosting it!

Most likely, yes. I'm actually stopping by after work today, so I'll ask them and let you know.

Ocelot makes amazing stuff. Besides Right Proper (try and visit them as well. They are in DC), no other brewery can touch them in the area. Some of their IPA's have been on par with some of the best IPA's to come out of the New England area.

I'm curious to know what the bottle limits and variants are myself! I think you will have to get there a little early in order to grab variants.
