Bastards at TW McLean screwed over most of people the line by allocating 2 per on all variants! (including Reserve!)

Semi off topic: I'm not a stout guy at all but what does storing a beer like BCBS in the fridge for a year do?

That never, ever happens. At least not with this stout.

I guess DC folks will have to buy more Sofie and Mathilda next year!

Since BCBS is pasteurized there won't be any change in the character of the beer due to yeast., for non-pasteurized stouts this can differ. For this years BCBS, aging will gradually add oxidation to the beer which will change its character, many people associate oxidation in stouts with a more dried fruit character. In general, the effects of aging are hard to nail down, because year to year the ABV and barrels change.

My fridge. I've had a bottle of '16 in there since its release. Sort of forgot about it.

Frederick, MD reporting in: Ye Olde Spirits sold out in 11 min yesterday morning (regular and variants) but a few other stores have some regular behind the counter (no more variants) late last night. I think Frederick got some coffee and barleywine, maybe the Northwood (not sure) but all variants were gone in the AM.

Ok so here's the mindblow.... $19+ tax ($21) for a single 16.9oz bottle of regular was the retail price. No thank you. I walked out $21 richer and there is still quite a few bottles behind the counter . Anyone seeing bottles of "regular" at this rediculous price in the stores? Was only $15 last year and nearly all Frederick stores were sold out Friday morning last year but at $21, people seem to be passing on it. I'd rather get the 22oz BA Ten Fidy for $15 sitting at the counter than the $21 for BCBS.

I believe that BA Ten Fidy is 19 oz, not 22.

Gonna be in DC for a few days next week. Any idea if there are places that may have tappings? Or even stores that might not have released their bottles yet?

    Thanks and cheers!

H St whole foods still had a ton of regular and barley out last night with no limits. Based on the cases they had left, you should still be good there

Calvert Woodley had plenty of Barleywine and regular as of 3ish this afternoon. Only bought one but didn't see a limits sign.

WF Foggy had a bunch of regular and barleywine yesterday 12 and 13 respectively.

When I talked to WF P Street on Friday night (I didn't get over during the morning) they said they were getting "variants" in this week. However, I saw someone else already post what variants they had on Black Friday. Either the guy didn't know what he was talking about or they're getting a second drop.

Heh, while the price per oz has obviously skyrocketed over the years, BCBS was never $15 a four pack! I'm trying to remember what the cheapest I ever saw it was (maybe $18.99?), but it usually was in the $20-$25 range around these parts.

Edit: I should note that this refers to DC only. I don't believe DC got 4-packs of BCBS until 2011. Prior to that I believe it was 22 oz bottles only.

I'm pretty sure I got it for less than $19 in my NoVA suburban Whole Foods/Total Wine, but don't have the receipts to prove it. Anyway still, $19 for four bottles vs. $60 for four bottles (yes, four more ounces but who really needs more than 12 ounces of the stuff at a time?) is a 300%+ price increase.
