Thanks everyone for their help. One last question. I am going to try to convince the wife to make a trip to Ocelot, Aslin, and Lost Rhino (someone told me they were worth checking out.). Where is a decent place to eat somewhere around those spots. Again will be traveling from Alexandria, Va. Any suggestions would be great. Also we again we will have the kids with us. Thanks!

There's a good Indian takeout joint in the same stripmall as Aslin.

Save yourself the trouble and just go to Meridian Pint in Columbia Heights where you might just get the odd Ocelot and Aslin brew with less hassle.

Ditto what Smakawhat said and I'll throw in another vote for Right Proper. Which day would you be heading out to the Dulles area breweries? It's an important question if you are going to Aslin. Ocelot is much more likely to be a tolerable experience for the wife and kids no matter which day it is. Lost Rhino is decent for beers, but they also have a surprisingly workable, full menu of bar-type food.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that one appearance of an Aslin keg at Meridian Pint was a special one-time thing for Savor. You won't be getting any Aslin back in the District for a while.

That is correct, at least for the time being.

Also, if you're in Alexandria check out Vermillon, which is in Old Town owned by NRG (Neighborhood Restaurant Group). NRG owns more beer bars than just Churchkey, Sovereign, and Rustico.

Was going to try to head that way Saturday night probably. Probably a pint at each place and a growler fill while the fam waits outside. Does either place sell cans/bottles to go?

You may be as to leave with some bottles from Ocelot, you definitely can leave with cans/bottles from Lost Rhino, but no dice at Aslin.

does Aslin do crowlers? or just growlers

Limited crowlers and sometimes additionally growlers depending on beer. But when supply starts to run low, they cut it back to pints only.
