The Mrs and I will be going to the Wizards game on Fri night and I was just curious as to if there were any good places to eat/have a good beer or two near the arena. Any and all suggestions welcomed. Thanks in advance!
Iron Horse is a cool bar on 7th street south of the Arena. I believe their happy hour on Friday is $2 off beer from 4-8. City Tap House has a decent selection - they're north of the arena on 9th. I've also been to Free State on G and 5th a few times, they've had some good options
There's a Yard House close by too, but I would recommend The Partisan if food and drink are a priority. The others will have better TV/pre-game environment, I'd imagine.

Chop House makes solid beers and the food is really good, though pricey. Beers are insanely cheap during HH and certain apps are on special too. I regularly choose Chop over Iron Horse, though Partisan is the best you can do within a few blocks. It's the farthest from the arena, but close to the Penn Quarter metro
