Well, I've seen tons of posts on here along the lines of: "What is the best state for beer" and many, many, many other permutations of that post along those lines.

Many people forget the national capitol region.

Well, most people don't realize that in this area, there are absolutely no distribution laws and anything anyone wants to bring into this area is absolutely fair game, as long as they pay a small tax on it.

I only bring this up because I'm so proud of the fact that DC is hosting an event starting tomorrow with bar tap lists that I defy ANYONE in ANY market to beat: http://www.dcbeer.com/news/cbc-2013-events-churchkey

    Boom!

Plus, On the Wings of Armageddon is really f'ing good. And DC Brau's collab farmhouse IPA, Yonder Cities, is also superb. Equally "farmhouse" and "IPA" at the same time, without compromising the other side of it whatsoever—which in my experience with Belgian and "farmhouse" IPAs is a real feat.

A great week of beer Brandon. There are many great beer destinations in the US and A, but I would say DC is certainly a unique situation. I do enjoy living here for sure.

Yeah I got real lucky last weekend. I was driving from Raleigh, NC back to Syracuse, NY and my drive day happened to be on the OTWOA release. I debated stopping, but it ended up that a friend in DC needed a ride back to Syracuse, so I stopped and visited the DC Brau brewery . . . and man, they have a nice little space in there. Really like what they're doing.

As a Michiganian living in Chicago, I'm looking forward to an awesome week upcoming for the CBC. I was at Churchkey/Birch & Barley and Meridian Pint a couple weekends back and was pretty damn pleased. This week I just feel bad for my wallet...

DC has come a long way in only a few short years. If we can start getting Hardywood to distribute up here, I would be hard pressed to ask for more great beer in the area. CBC is going to be insane for sure. I am leaving work early tomorrow to hit some of the local watering holes.

I saw that list earlier and have been avoiding it at all costs...it's an out of this world week of events. I'm going to hit up Meridian Pint on Tues since I will be there for the Cicerone test and the Black Cat on Wed for the Pietaster and DC Brau release. Other then that it will be a week filled with work...
