From their website. Translated from French: Product Recall Notice Recall of Lot 58 of Corne du Diable due to an error of labeling and packaging. 60 of the 335 cases produced contain the Route des Epices rather than Corne du Diable. The six-packs are identified by the code 01 2012 58 affixed to the side of the box. Bottles for their part are identified by notches made above figures 5 and 8 to the right of the bar code and the bottling date 01 12. We are recovering the cases that are currently in all our points of sale and we encourage consumers and retailers to contact us at 1-866-919-3438, ext. 221 to be reimbursed.
As recalls go, this is really not that bad. When I read the title I was worried about an infection or bottles that tasted like sanitizing solution or some off flavour. It makes me jealous of being able to buy six packs of either of those beers, really. I really cannot imagine many people are going to actually partake in the recall, I mean, they're both great - I'd just drink the Route des Epices!
01-2012-59: The number on the unopened 6-pack in my closet (received from my friend living in Montreal). ... I think I would have been excited for Route des Epices. Never had it.
I'd be crying. Route is probably one of the least tasty, aka worst beers I've ever had. I know people like it but I couldn't handle it in any shape or form. If I bought one beer I knew I liked and got something I knew I hated, I'd be beyond furious. Good on DDC for getting word out fast and working to recall it.
